A new hope chap 3

I got up from the stool and grabbed the clothes to change into. Behind

Mrs. Johnson’s beautiful dressing room door, filled with all of her dresses, I then slipped on the flowery dress with a sleeveless jean-tied jacket. Fits me like a charm! Walking out of the dressing room, a warm smile formed on her face. “That fits perfectly on you.” Mrs. Johnson exclaimed. She then pulls out brown heeled leather sandals for me. And I have to admit, they are really comfy to wear! I walked up to a tall mirror and saw a girl as if she were an old friend of mine that had changed. The only thing is though, that girl was me. My long and smooth and silky hair was the color of soiled dirt. My skin, surprisingly, is still pale. Face, slender and my eyes, just like every bit of Mom’s eyes, the color of coffee beans. From what was obvious, skinny as could be from not eating well. Yet I’ll probably won’t be like that once I get back on my feet and retrieve my strength again.

“All right, let’s get something to eat.” Mrs. Johnson tells me. Through the hallways and down the stairs, I followed her to the dining room. Entering, I see a long dark wooden table, surrounded with chairs. And hanging above the middle hung a divine diamond chandelier that shined and glimmered from the sunlight, beaming through the tall windows. From the furthest end of the table from me, sat Mr. Johnson reading his newspaper. His black hair is so neat and tidy. And his suit, the color of beige with his tie in the color minty green. I looked at his eyes, they're dark and mysterious as the blue ocean, the wonder of what he's always up to. Is it something non-good?

He looked up from his newspaper and his eyes then met mine in the midst of the silent room. “Sit please,” he insisted. I hesitated on sitting but walked carefully and sat next to the firm man. From the way things were looking at the Moment, Mr. Johnson is wanting to know me so he can probably help me. Yet one little slip from my mouth may make him call the cops on me. That is why I must stay quiet and give out little info about myself since I know little about them.

“Now tell me,” he spoke. “What is your name and where do you live?” I opened my mouth but didn’t speak right away. Then the idea popped into my head. “My name is Clarisse and I just moved into this neighborhood,” I told him with confidence. “I just happened to be passing by when I smelled your delicious pie and had to get a closer look at it.” He raised his eyebrow out of suspicion. “Then how come I didn’t get to meet your family when I know everyone here, Clarisse?” He asked. Way to go for me on possibly walking out the door and going to jail! This is why I don’t like playing cop things. They always have the instinct that you are lying when you are wrong to think they are dumb enough to fall for it. Here, I am messing with the wrong tall and scary monster- er, I mean person.

“Well you see,” I stuttered. “We uh- aren’t uh…” I couldn’t think of a comeback that would save myself this time. Should I run? Or should I tell him what happened? I don’t know if I can trust this man, I have this weird instinct that he isn’t good. Though that will be judging a book by its cover. Yes, he is terrifying to me, but I’ve heard that the people that don’t look so friendly on the outside are like a big teddy bear on the inside. Maybe do give him a chance I suppose? Right at that moment, I realize Mrs. Johnson left the room when I entered moments ago, as she is now bringing back mini bite-size sandwiches with glasses of iced lemonade.
