Meet Serena

Koa as givien warnings to stay away from the main pack house if an adult wasn't present with here, of course she didn't need to be told twice.

She steered clear of that pack house, the Alpha and his so called respectable and responsible beta. Yes, Chris is his beta awsome right. NOT!

She asked why there was barely any children around her at in the pack but never got a straight answer and she wasn't that crazy to try to let info from the Alpha.

The delta of the pack wasn't treated with respect even though he was responsible for training then for battle and to protect them from rouges. The so called soldiers barely showed up at all.

She grew close to Matilda, Nate, Jack and Kim. James didn't like her and she didn't like him at all. She made sure to stay away from him at all costs.

"Koa, go get Matilda's recipe book from home please?" Kim asks

"Ok" Kia says putting down the book she was reading. On her way there using her enhanced hearing she hears someone talking to themselves changing the pitch of their voice.

She follows the voice leaving getting the recipe book for last. She follows the voice deeper into the surrounding forest until the houses are lost in the distance.

She enters a clearing to see a little girl with chocolate brown hair playing with her dolls and a tea set.

??,"There you go miss snickerdoodle. Some lavender tea" She says smiling to a to dark skinned fall with a Bob-hair cut and a trip dress and black flat MaryJane's.

Koa watches as the girl plays with her toys oblivious to anything around her leaving her vulnerable to attacks. Serena moves so that her back is no longer facing Koa.

She raised her head and let's out a startled screen when she sees Koa looking at her causing Koa to give her ears cause the pitch is so high.

'Remind me never to startle her again' she says.

'No problem' Ezera replies

She uncovers her ears and gives Serena a slight glare.

"Sorry. I didn't mean it" she says.

"It's ok. Why at you playing by yourself?" Koa asks her.

"Alpha David doesn't really allow children to play besides you and I at the only children remaining in the pack" she says letting a deep breath.

'What does she mean by that?' Ezera asks.

"What do you mean?" Koa asks causing Serena to look at her like if she's a deer caught in headlights.

"Nothing. I don't mean anything" she says panicking.

"Hey. Take it easy. What are you so afraid of?" Koa asks not really wanting to hear the answer.

Serena lets out a sigh and all her warmth seems to disappear with it then she says;

"In this pack you have to grow up fast whether you like it or not. If you don't you don't survive or they find another use for you" she says looking Koa sea in the eyes.

"Ok miss doom and gloom" Koa says causing Serena to smile slightly.

"My name is not doom and gloom. It's Serena" she says.

"Keilani but everyone calls me Koa" she says.

"Lani. I'm going to call you Lani" she says a megawatt smile on her face.

"Come play with me" she says beckoning Koa closer.

'It wouldn't be so bad to interact with someone our age' Nyx says.

'I'm fed up of hanging around adults all the time' Ezera says.

'Ok ok, I get it' Koa says shutting her up.

Koa approaches Serena and both girls play late into the day. When Serena's parents come to get her they are weary of Koa but she shows them that she's not dangerous.

She says goodbye to her new friend and by the time she returns home she's faced with an upset Kim. Only then she remembers that she was supposed to get the recipe book for Matilda.

"I'm sorry. I was playing with Serena" she says lowering her eyes to the floor in shame.

"It's ok to play with Serena, Koa but the rest of us were worried about you" she says as she squats to Koa's level giving her a hug which she returns.

"I didn't mean to worry you" she says as she lets out a yawn causing Kim to laugh.

"Ok sleepy head. Let's get you to be" she says as she lifts a half-awake Koa.
