Two days later.

The day was Candice Lin last day as the sales promotion girl. She was quite restless since she still lacked of money to pay Madam Ding. Moreover, she hadn’t heard any news from Aunty Ye. Maybe, she shouldn’t put so much hope on her offer as her master might not accept an unknown person to be her substitute.

“Your salary has been transferred to your account. Thank you for your hard work.” The Manager broke her wandering thoughts.

Candice Lin professionally smiled, “Thank you. I am looking forward to the next opportunity.”

After shaking hands, Candice Lin left for her job in the French Restaurant.

Ding! Ding!

Candice Lin took out her phone as she heard her message notification.

Aunty Ye: Candice, sorry, aunty made you wait for long.

Aunty Ye: Master has agreed for you to be my substitute and let me take a leave. Can you start in 5 days?

Reading the texts, Candice Lin couldn’t be happier. She hurriedly replied to Aunty Ye, telling her she would come in 5 days.

Aunty Ye felt relieved. She then informed Candice Lin what things she might need to know and instructed her to check on the note book, she had prepared for her.

Done with the texting with Aunty Ye, Candice Lin saw her other message notifications from Asher Huo, which she hadn’t opened at all. He hadn’t mentioned about how to repay his help. Avoiding any unnecessary interaction with him was probably better, she thought, she tapped the delete option on her screen.

As her focus was on her phone, Candice Lin didn’t pay attention to the pedestrian traffic lights. She clumsily walked accross the intersection when a black car was passing by.

A loud screeching sound snapped her attention, but she was too shock to move away as the car struggled to stop in front of her.

She closed her eyes as her body shivered helplessly.

Luckily, the car managed to stop just in time. In just an inch, she would have been hit by it, if the driver were late to step on the brake.

The driver speedily got off from the car and went to check on the stunned Candice Lin.

“Miss, are you alright?” The driver looked worry.

Candice Lin’s pale face started to gain its colour, as she gradually opened her eyes and had herself completely fine.

“I-I’m alright...” Her stammered words came out slowly. “I-I... I apologize!”

The driver was mesmerized for a while when he saw the unparalleled beauty. Certainly, he just admired how she looks without any other intentions.

“That’s great! Please be careful next time!” The driver advised her.

A man from the back seat of the car got off from the car out of sudden.

Under his calm demeanor, he was terribly panicked when he recognized the person, who almost got hit by his car, that he shouted angrily to his driver earlier to do whatever it took to make the car stopped.

He was tall and indescribably handsome, his hair was styled neatly, showing some parts of his forehead. His high grade business suit showed not a single crease and the custom made pin on his tie glinted elegantly.

One could pick up his strong charismatic aura just by watching him. The pair of his peach blossom eyes locked to the familiar woman, who was standing near his driver.

Asher Huo!

He moved his long legs towards her as he felt relief, she didn’t get hurt. Behind him, there was another woman with a red dress following his steps.

Candice Lin pursed her pinkish lips.

Recently, Asher Huo seemed to be everywhere and with a different woman too. Was it a coincidence? Of all people, why she bumped into him all the time?

“Mr. Huo, what a coincidence! I’m sorry for the disturbance I caused.” Candice Lin politely bowed her head, once Asher Huo stood facing her.

Asher Huo put one of his hand on his pocket, his gaze turned to the phone on her hand. “I can see that Miss Lin was very busy, even to see something carefully. At least, Miss Lin should remember to keep herself safe.”

The others might not understand, but Candice Lin caught up his clear complaint about her deliberately neglected his messages, hidden in his words.

Pretending not to get the subtle message, Candice Lin responded gently, “I’m very sorry for my negligence. Mr. Huo was right, maybe I’m too busy. Thank you for your kind reminder.”

Asher Huo took a deep breath as he sneered, Candice Lin really had some guts under her polite tone. She was as different as heaven and earth with the gentle princess in his dream.

However, Candice Lin was magically proficient to tickle his mind and heart. In some ways, he couldn’t hold his drive not to conquer her, own her completely, while in other ways, his desire was to protect her and see her happy smile.

“Sorry was not enough. I expect Miss Lin to compensate for the unpleasant experience we had somehow.” Asher Huo played his card.

The chauffeur and the woman behind Asher Huo were flabbergasted by his sentences. Asher Huo really made it difficult for the woman, named Miss Lin.

“Mr. Huo, I really don’t know how to compensate you, except sincerely apologizing. I can’t treat you or giving you presents. Neither can I wash your car.” Candice Lin explained honestly.

A meaningful smile appeared on Asher Huo’s face. “Go on a date with me!”

Once again, the three others were greatly dumbstruck.

The driver had never seen his boss asked a woman on a date so eagerly no matter how calm his facade was, aside from the presence of numerous women around him. He knew those women were purposely approaching the boss, asking stuffs, and persuading him to take them for a date, etc. Truthfully, his boss had never been serious on them or put some efforts for them.

The woman who stood behind Asher Huo, throw a scary glanced on Candice Lin, she had placed her in the rival zone. Observing their conversation, Asher Huo and Candice Lin had known each other, she was so curious about the relationship they had. Unknown to anyone, she had been working hard to get close to Asher Huo, but somehow, she couldn’t get his attention. While, this Miss Lin, despite her undeniably excellent physical apperance, she didn’t see anything special, yet, the capital number one person asked her to go on a date just like that.

Candice Lin seriously had an urge to kick Asher Huo on the face, if she could. Did he think every woman would fly to the ninth sky just because he was handsome and rich, when he invited her on a date? Dream on! She had no interest to get close to a womanizer like him.

“Mr. Huo, you have a good sense of humor! It’s a shame, even if it’s true, I’m afraid, I don’t deserve it.” Candice Lin refused.

Asher Huo was going to say something, but Candice Lin interrupted, “Right, I should get going!”

She ran away in speed of light, leaving Asher Huo without a chance to stop her.

“Next time, I’ll make sure not to let you run away, Candice Lin!” He made the commitment silently.

The woman behind Asher Huo was secretly delightful that Candice Lin had not agreed to go on a date and went away. In a coquettish way, she tried to put her arms around Asher Huo’s muscular arm.

To her surprise, Asher Huo didn’t let her do it as he walked back to his car indifferently.

“My dear, what’s wrong??” She followed him in worry. “Don’t you like me anymore?”

Asher Huo wasn’t a sweet talker or an easy man, but, he never gave a cold shoulder to the women in the past.

Asher Huo stopped his steps right next to the back door of his car, he throw a cold glance at her.

Once she noticed his terrifying gaze, she got suppressed by his domineering aura. The chill ran down her spine. She bit her lower lip.

“Don’t ever show your face in front of me in the future!” Asher Huo coldly warned her. “Oh, I never like you!”

The woman was so shocked, her mouth opened. She didn’t know what she did wrong to deserve his ruthless words.

Asher Huo got into the car and it sped away, left the woman alone by the side of the road.

Since he met Candice Lin, he got less and less interest spending time with the other women. He, himself, didn’t know the reason. He clearly didn’t mind their companions and their little affection previously.

He closed his eyes for a while, then he told his driver to change the direction.

Forty Five minutes later, Asher Huo arrived in Dr. Jeffrey Pei’s place. Jeffrey Pei was the psychiatrist Andrew Yan recommended.

“Mr. Huo, it’s very nice to meet you. I heard about your problems from Andrew Yan. Can you tell me the details?” The friendly doctor took Asher Huo to sit down on the lazy chair.

“Sure. I have a weird recurrence dream for almost the past 3 weeks. In the first 2 weeks, I dreamt about a merchant and a princess in ancient clothes ran away in the woods together. I believe they were lovers, but because of their circumstances, they couldn’t be together. When they finally found a place to hide, the princess wished to be born as a commoner and be with him. The merchant, who I think was me, he had my face too, said to her he wouldn’t let her suffer and he would become an emperor, if she was born as a princess, in order to get together. The princess was certainly someone I had never met. Suddenly, some people who had been chasing them broke in to their hiding, took away the princess and beat the man endlessly. The man said in determination to find the princess as he passed out. I was awaken after that.” Asher Huo paused a little before he went on, “Coincidentally, I met a woman who perfectly has the same appearance as the princess 5 days ago. She has been hostile towards me, maybe she’s not familiar with me, I’m not sure.”

“That’s very fascinating! Tell me more about it.” Jeffrey Pei enthusiastically listened to Asher Huo.

“Unexpectedly, I met her again the next day. She played the violin in the restaurant I dined in. That night when I was sleeping, for the first time, I dreamt about the princess and the merchant again in different scene. Maybe it was before they got caught. The princess played the erhu, the man listened to it. They had a lovely time and looked very happy. This dream had occurred repeatedly yesterday too.” Asher Huo had finished telling his dreams.

“Do you have interest in ancient history, drama, things, books or did you go somewhere, which related to it before you had those dreams?” Jeffrey Pei began his interview session.

“No. Not at all”

“Do you have any problems that you’ve been so consume to it? Have you ever experienced any sleep disorder before?”

“No. Never.”

The questions from Dr. Jeffrey Pei endlessly went on for some time, they were varied from personal to general matters. Asher Huo cooperatively answered one by one and did the assessments as well.”

“How do you feel when you met that princess in your dream in the real life?”

“She’s my type, actually.” Asher Huo straightforwardly answered. “I should admit that there’s a strange feelings since I met her.”

“Can you describe it?”

“Well... it’s kind of hard. Do you think it’s caused by my dream?”

“It’s possible. That doesn’t mean that’s just the cause, though.”

Jeffrey Pei had his eyes behind the rimless glasses stuck on his notes for a while. He analyzed every information he had carefully.

“What do you think about my condition?” Asher Huo furrowed his swords like eyebrows.

Jeffrey Pei affirmatively said, “You are a good healthy man! There’s nothing wrong with your mental health.”

He stood up from his seat and asked Asher Huo to lie down on the lazy chair as he was going to do a hypnotize to ensure his suspicion towards the recurrence dreams.

The procedure took some minutes. By the time, they were done, Jeffrey Pei went back to his desk, poured a jar of water into two devided glass. He served one of the glass for Asher Huo and the other for himself.

Sitting on his chair behind the desk, he took off his glasses. His face was calm.

“So?” Asher Huo couldn’t wait any longer.

“Mr. Huo, what happened to you is considered really unusual, rare, impossible, you name it. As a professional psychiatrist, absolutely I can not mention it. On the contrary, that kind of things you experienced, as a doctor, I’d say it’s your subconscious desire that cause it. It’s not really disturbing, your life is not really affected either, your sleep behaviour and stuffs are all normal, you don’t need medication or special therapy. I can suggest you some tips about the issue. I believe the dream will disappear on its own with or without interference. However, in my personal view as a friend, If my suspicion is right, I can tell you the more precise reason.” Jeffrey Pei calmly explained.

“Tell me!” Asher Huo said firmly.

“Do you believe in visions, reincarnation, and fate?” Jeffrey Pei smiled mysteriously.

Asher Huo laughed skeptically. “Meeting you is a waste of time.”

“It’s up to you whether you want to trust me or not. I build my reputation based on my sharp observation.” Jeffrey Pei smiled. “There’s nothing called a coincidence, it’s all been fated.”

Putting his fingers between his eyebrows, Asher Huo slowly shooked his head.

Jeffrey Pei concluded, “Based on my personal analysis, the dreams are your past life, it occurrence is like a sign for you to get ready. In this lifetime, fate brought both of you together in different circumstances, just like you two wished in your past. This time, maybe you can rewrite your future.”

“Such a nonsense!” Asher Huo sneered, he left the room in a bad mood.

Jeffrey Pei sighed helplessly seeing the angry figure.

Asher Huo sat in his spacious car, he loosened up his tie.

Past Life, huh? It was crazy enough to hear it.

Was he that miserable in his past life?

Did Jeffrey Pei regard him as a fool?!

He was the CEO of the most influential company in the capital. He could make almost everything go according to his way. He definitely would create the best future for himself!

Pressing his hands on his face, Asher Huo calmed himself.

“C’mon! What’s there to be angry about? It’s indeed too unbelievable.” He talked to himself inside his head. “However, what if he’s right?”

As if something knocked on his head, his mind felt slightly clearer.

The problem wasn’t in the dream nor the past. If what Jeffrey Pei’s nonsense was true, then their meetings were inevitable in this lifetime. Whether they would succeed to be together in this life time was the main issue.
