That Bunny On The Night [Taekook]
Go Back_⁰⁵
Jungkook sat quietly on the couch, his limbs heavy, his mind far too loud. The leather of the helmet now rested on the floor beside him like some silent witness to everything he couldn’t explain.
Lisa returned quickly with the first-aid kit in one hand and a small bowl of warm water in the other. She placed them on the coffee table and knelt in front of him without saying much... her frustration had faded, replaced by a focused kind of tenderness. The kind she always reserved for the people she cared about most.
Lisa Manoban [Jk's Best friend]
Give me your hands.
Jungkook hesitated, then lifted them. His palms were scratched up, thin lines of red crisscrossed with dirt. Lisa took a clean cloth, dipped it in the warm water, and began dabbing gently at the wounds. The moment the cloth made contact, he winced.
Lisa Manoban [Jk's Best friend]
Sorry.
She murmured without looking up, her brows furrowed in concentration.
Jeon Jungkook / Supreme Omega
It's fine.
Jungkook replied, his voice barely above a whisper.
She cleaned the cuts in silence, only the soft sounds of water and cloth moving between them. After the hands, she moved on to his knees... carefully rolling up the torn fabric of his jeans and pressing cool antiseptic against the scraped skin.
He flinched again, and she shot him a glance.
Lisa Manoban [Jk's Best friend]
You’ve really done a number on yourself.
She muttered, trying not to let her concern show too much.
Lisa Manoban [Jk's Best friend]
Next time, maybe try not crashing the first time you ride the damn bike I gift you.
Jungkook gave a dry chuckle, but there was no real humor in it.
Jeon Jungkook / Supreme Omega
Yeah. That wasn’t exactly the plan.
Lisa didn’t press further. She just wrapped his wounds carefully, her hands gentle but firm. When she was done, she sat back on her heels and exhaled.
Lisa Manoban [Jk's Best friend]
Alright. You’re not dying. Just crashed.
She said, trying to lighten the mood.
He nodded silently, his eyes still distant.
Lisa stood up and stretched her arms.
Lisa Manoban [Jk's Best friend]
Go freshen up. I’ll set up the table. You’re not skipping dinner just because you tried to scrape half your skin off.
Jungkook gave her a tired look.
Jeon Jungkook / Supreme Omega
You really know how to comfort a guy.
Lisa Manoban [Jk's Best friend]
Damn right I do.
She said, already heading into the kitchen.
Lisa Manoban [Jk's Best friend]
Now go. You smell like asphalt.
Jungkook stood slowly, his body sore but moving. He padded across the living room and down the hallway, entering his room with a quiet click of the door.
Inside, it was cool and dim. The familiar scent of fresh linen and his subtle cologne greeted him like a memory. He peeled off his torn clothes with a soft wince, each movement reminding him of the accident. And the memory. That awful, broken flash of something that didn’t belong to now.
Something old.
Something buried.
He tossed the dirty clothes into the basket and stepped into the bathroom to wash up. Cool water splashed against his face, trailing down his neck and collarbones like a much-needed reset. When he was done, he threw on a loose black t-shirt and soft gray sweatpants.... comfort over style.
He looked at himself in the mirror for a moment.
There was something in his eyes he didn’t quite recognize.
But he turned away before he could think too hard about it.
Dinner passed in a kind of quiet that didn’t need to be filled.
Jungkook and Lisa sat across from each other at the small dining table, the soft clinks of cutlery and the low hum of the kitchen fan the only background noise. Neither of them talked much, but it wasn’t an awkward silence... it was comfortable, like the kind that settled between people who didn’t need to explain themselves all the time.
Lisa kept an eye on him, but didn’t push for answers. Jungkook was grateful for that.
When they finished eating, she cleared the plates with a little sigh and told him to go rest.
Lisa Manoban [Jk's Best friend]
I'll do the dishes, go rest.
Lisa Manoban [Jk's Best friend]
You need sleep more than a lecture right now.
He gave her a small, half-hearted smile and nodded, then made his way back to his room, the dull ache in his muscles more noticeable now that he was full and warm.
His room was quiet, just the faint hum of the city outside his window. He walked over to it and leaned against the glass, looking out at the skyline.... the buildings like sleeping giants, the lights blinking lazily in the dark.
His fingers were still sore. His head still throbbed in waves.
His thoughts? Still tangled up in a rain-soaked road, a blood-stained memory, and a stranger with an unreadable face.
He blinked, pulled it out of his sweatpants pocket, and frowned slightly at the screen.
He considered ignoring it. Letting it ring until it stopped. But a part of him... the part trained by years of guilt and duty... pressed accept.
Jeon Jungkook / Supreme Omega
📱Yeah?
His father’s deep voice came through on the other end... calm, practiced, always slightly distant.
Jeon Tae-Moo [Mr. Jeon]
📱Jungkook. It’s been a while.
Jungkook didn’t bother with pleasantries.
Jeon Jungkook / Supreme Omega
📱What do you want?
Jeon Tae-Moo [Mr. Jeon]
📱Minnie is flying out next week. He got the acceptance letter from the university in Japan.
Jeon Tae-Moo [Mr. Jeon]
📱We were hoping you’d come home before that. Just for a few days.
Jungkook’s face remained expressionless.
Jeon Jungkook / Supreme Omega
📱I don't think that's necessary.
Jeon Tae-Moo [Mr. Jeon]
📱Jungkook—
Jeon Jungkook / Supreme Omega
📱I already congratulated him.
Jeon Jungkook / Supreme Omega
📱I already talked to him, he doesn’t need me there for the send-off, and you and Mom definitely don’t either.
Jeon Tae-Moo [Mr. Jeon]
📱This isn’t about need. It’s about being present. About family. Your mother wants to see you. I want to see you.
Jungkook’s lips twisted into a dry smile.
Jeon Jungkook / Supreme Omega
📱Funny. You only seem to want to see me when you want something.
Jeon Tae-Moo [Mr. Jeon]
📱Don’t start with that tone—
Jeon Jungkook / Supreme Omega
📱I’m not starting anything.
Jungkook interrupted coldly.
Jeon Jungkook / Supreme Omega
📱I’m just saying, if this is some attempt to play happy family again, I’m not interested.
There was a heavy silence.
Then his father shifted to that familiar tactic... emotional leverage disguised as softness.
Jeon Tae-Moo [Mr. Jeon]
📱I’m not forcing you, Jungkook. I’m asking. As your father. Just come home for a few days. See your brother off. Let us see you. That’s all.
Jungkook closed his eyes briefly, his fingers tightening around the edge of the window sill. He hated how that tone still got to him.... still made him feel like the rebellious son trying not to snap under years of being told what to do, how to act, how to live.
But after a beat, he exhaled.
Jeon Jungkook / Supreme Omega
📱....fine.
Jeon Jungkook / Supreme Omega
📱 I'll come...
His father didn’t say thank you. Just gave a firm, final.
Jeon Tae-Moo [Mr. Jeon]
📱Good. I’ll tell your mother. Travel safe.
Jungkook stared at his phone for a moment before tossing it carelessly on the bed.
He turned back to the window, the city still quietly glowing beneath him, unaware that one more person had just decided to go back to the place he never wanted to return to.
