That Bunny On The Night [Taekook]
Worried_⁰⁴
The stranger sat in silence, head slightly tilted back against the cold wall behind his hospital bed. His fingers were still, his thoughts were anything but. The helmeted stranger lingered in his mind like a shadow that refused to leave... silent, unreadable, and gone too fast.
When his phone buzzed violently on the bedside table. The name flashing on the screen nearly made him groan aloud.
Stranger didn’t even need to answer to know the storm that was about to come. He sighed, dragging his finger across the screen.
With a resigned sigh, Stranger answered the call and barely got a breath out before—
???
📱YAHHH! KIM TAEHYUNG!!
The voice was sharp, loud, and laced with pure fury. Taehyung flinched, dragging the phone an inch away from his ear with a wince.
???
📱Are you kidding me?! I told you to reach the venue in half an hour, and it’s been over TWO! Do you know what time it is?! The party’s basically dead and the client is fuming! He’s already threatening to walk out before the deal can be signed—what the hell are you thinking?!
Taehyung groaned under his breath.
Kim Taehyung / Enigma
📱Hngg… I knew you were gonna yell.
???
📱Oh, you deserve it, Taehyung! Where are you?!
He rubbed a hand over his face, fingers brushing the edge of the bandage.
Kim Taehyung / Enigma
📱 Hospital.
Kim Taehyung / Enigma
📱I got into a small accident. Bumped my head. I’m fine, but yeah.... hospital.
The silence on the other end stretched for a moment, thick with disbelief.
???
📱Kim Taehyung. I swear. If you died and I had to find out from some party planner I would have haunted you for the rest of eternity.
Taehyung huffed a soft laugh.
Kim Taehyung / Enigma
📱Relax, hyung. It’s not that deep. I just got a little… thrown.
???
📱Thrown?! What do you mean thrown?! Did a car hit you?!
Kim Taehyung / Enigma
📱Not exactly.
He muttered, rubbing his eyes.
Kim Taehyung / Enigma
📱It’s complicated. Some guy saved me. Dropped me off and disappeared.
???
📱Some guy? Like a random guy?
Kim Taehyung / Enigma
📱Black helmet. Leather jacket. Mystery man type. I didn’t even get his name.
The other end went silent for a second again before the voice returned.... calmer this time, but still packed with stress.
???
📱I’m coming to you. Send me the location. And don’t you dare leave that bed.
Kim Taehyung / Enigma
📱I’m not planning to go clubbing, chill.
???
📱I’m serious, Tae. I’m not playing today.
Taehyung finally cracked a smile.
Kim Taehyung / Enigma
📱I know, Hoseok-hyung. I’m sending it now.
There it was.... that familiar name that always came with a chaotic mix of concern, sass, and loyalty: Jung Hoseok. The assistant and best friend of Kim Taehyung. The richest man in Korea.
Call ended. Storm postponed.
Taehyung dropped the phone beside him, chest rising and falling gently. His body was finally still, but his thoughts? They were somewhere else entirely.
Back with that stranger.
That silent storm in a helmet.
And a presence he couldn’t forget.
The ride back was a blur.
City lights flickered past Jungkook like ghosts, neon signs and quiet intersections melting together as the wind rushed against him. The streets were quieter now, the late hour wrapping the city in a layer of stillness that only made his thoughts louder.
His helmet stayed on the entire way.... not just for protection, but because every time he tried to take it off, the pounding in his head returned like a cruel reminder. So he left it on, even when it felt suffocating. Even when his breath fogged the visor slightly from the inside.
When he finally reached his apartment complex, he drove into the underground parking and shut the bike off with a low purr. The engine died, but the ringing in his ears didn’t.
Jungkook stepped off the bike slowly. His legs were aching now, the cuts on his knees pulling uncomfortably with every movement, his hands sore from gripping too tightly during the ride. He walked stiffly to the lift, pressing the button for the twentieth floor with a gloved hand, the fluorescent lights above humming softly as the elevator ascended.
The doors slid open and Jungkook stepped into the hallway. The familiar stretch of cream-colored tiles and dark wooden doors greeted him, but it didn’t bring any comfort. Everything felt too quiet. Too still.
He unlocked his apartment door and stepped inside.
His best friend, roommate, and the only person who could truly read him.
She was pacing near the couch, phone in hand, clearly in the middle of trying to call someone.... probably him. Her face was twisted in worry, brows furrowed deeply as she muttered under her breath, spinning scenarios of every terrible possibility.
The moment the door clicked shut behind him, Lisa’s head whipped around.
Her eyes widened in shock.
Lisa Manoban [Jk's Best friend]
Jungkook?!
Before he could even speak, she rushed over and threw her arms around him, pulling him into a tight, breathless hug.
Lisa Manoban [Jk's Best friend]
Do you have any idea how worried I was?!
Lisa Manoban [Jk's Best friend]
You weren’t answering your phone... I told you not to go out alone this late, but do you ever listen to me?! No! Of course not! I literally bought that bike for you as a gift, not for you to go missing with it on the first night! What were you even thinking?!
Jungkook didn’t respond. He just stood still, arms slightly hovering like he wasn’t sure if he was really here yet... or still trapped in whatever vision had shaken him back at the hospital.
Lisa pulled back, face still scrunched in concern. Her eyes narrowed when she noticed his helmet.
Lisa Manoban [Jk's Best friend]
…Why are you still wearing that thing?
And then she saw it... the dirt, the faint bloodstains, the torn fabric on his jeans, the scratches along his hands and legs. Her expression instantly changed.
Lisa Manoban [Jk's Best friend]
Jungkook...
She began inspecting him, hands fluttering around him as if she didn’t know where to check first.
Lisa Manoban [Jk's Best friend]
What the hell happened?! You’re hurt... your jeans are torn, your hands... why didn’t you call me?!
Jungkook flinched slightly at her touch but didn’t stop her. Slowly, he reached up and undid the helmet strap, wincing as a bolt of pain shot through his skull. He pulled the helmet off, and Lisa saw the thin layer of sweat across his brow, the way his hair stuck to his forehead, the fog in his eyes that didn’t quite seem… present.
Lisa Manoban [Jk's Best friend]
Jungkook...
She said softly, lowering her hands.
Lisa Manoban [Jk's Best friend]
You didn’t just fall, did you?
He lowered his gaze, jaw tightening. His throat felt dry.
Jeon Jungkook / Supreme Omega
I was just going for a ride...
He finally said, voice low.
Jeon Jungkook / Supreme Omega
Just wanted to try it out.
Lisa Manoban [Jk's Best friend]
And you crashed?
He gave a short, humorless laugh.
Jeon Jungkook / Supreme Omega
Something like that.
But the truth was far more complicated.
Because it wasn’t just an accident.
It was the memory... or whatever the hell that was... that hit him harder than any fall. The dark road. The sound of screaming. The blood. The eerie silence that followed. He’d seen it before, but only in dreams. Nightmares he’d brushed off, buried deep.
But tonight… tonight was different.
Tonight, it was real.
And that terrified him more than anything.
Lisa stepped closer again, her voice gentler now.
Lisa Manoban [Jk's Best friend]
Why didn’t you call me, Kook?
He shook his head, trying to force a smile, but it didn’t quite reach his eyes.
Jeon Jungkook / Supreme Omega
Didn’t want to worry you.
She stared at him, clearly unconvinced, but she didn’t push. Not yet.
Lisa Manoban [Jk's Best friend]
Come sit..
She said, guiding him to the couch.
Lisa Manoban [Jk's Best friend]
Let me clean those up.
Jungkook let her, sitting down heavily as Lisa disappeared into the kitchen to grab the first-aid kit. His hands rested on his lap, scratched and trembling slightly. He stared at the faint streaks of blood.
And all he could think about…
was that stranger.
