Chapter 4: I made it

Located in the golden section of the city, the office building of Walters group stood fifty stories tall with a high density of business and busy traffic. The land in this area was so expensive that only the Walters group could afford to buy it.

At noon time,it is always the busiest time in the office. In the office building, the sound of typing in computers formed a consistent drone throughout the day. Sometimes white collar workers holding documents passed by, all of them in a frantic hurry. The building hold a very high density of facilities. The CEO office is at the last floor of the building.

The CEO office is decorated in black and white with luxurious leather sofas and a large exquisite marble table. Even the several court painting hanging on the wall are extremely prominent, highlighting the luxury and elegance. Jeff Walter sat on the black couch, his back facing the large floor to ceiling window.

Jeff swirled the wine glass in his hand and slowly sip from it. He was reading a business newspaper.  The phone by his side started ringing. Jeff glanced at the caller and pick it.

"Young master, the lady just left the villa". The villa butler reported over the phone.

"Did she take a cab?"

"No, I appointed a driver for her and a few bodyguard to fellow her secretly as you ordered".

"En, anything else?"

"No, master". Jeff hung up. He has the habit of picking call without responding first and hanging up before the other person. People that are close to him knows this about him.

Jeff walked over to the large floor to ceiling window and stare down at the busy city.

He chuckled softly as a petite figure appear in his mind.

Crown star entertainment industry.

"Hey, look the time you are just coming."  As Tracy entered the office,it was her assistant scolding that greeted her first.

Tracy smiled "Alright, I know I'm a minute late. Don't use it against me, okay".

"You wish". Gracie struck out her tongue. Tracy pat her on the back. "Morning,sis danny". Tracy strode over to her manager chair.

"Hey bro Tracy". Danny glanced at her and nod in greeting.

Tracy Sat down opposite him.

"You seem busy, what are you working on?".

"Nothing, just some paperwork."

Danny close the document and stood up "Have you had breakfast, come on let go and eat".

"Nah, I don't want to gain weight". Tracy replied and Gracie burst out laughing "you are already so skinny like this and you are still afraid of gaining weight". Gracie put out her little finger, indicating how skinny she is. Her manager shook his head "Gracie, help her to get prepare,we are leaving when I'm back".

"Sure" the both of them chorused.

Gracie lead Tracy to the swirling chair. "I will doll you up a little".

"Gracie, what if I don't get the role". Tracy asked

"Don't even think about it". She enthuse and then chuckled "just kidding. You have to just give it your best and leave the rest".

"Thanks, you are the best".

"Yeah, that why I'm your assistant". Gracie jabbered.

After Danny came back, they went for the audition.

Danny had to leave because he got something to do. Gracie and Tracy went in and find a place to sit. "I will be right back, Tracy" Gracie whispered to her and left.

While getting bored, Tracy started playing games on her phone.

"Hey, who is that woman coming over?"

"Don't you know her, that's Eileen smith".

"Oh, the queen of the EI,wow I can't believe she is coming here. But wait why is she here?"

"I heard she is the main lead actress in this new drama".

"She will really fit the role. I have read the script  and I really like the role of the lead actress. She is really beautiful".

"You should worry about yourself, will you even get the chance to act in the same drama with her".

"You are right. I don't have any hope for these, I heard someone has already gotten the supporting role". 

"You are right, but director McCoy wasn't satisfied with her,so he want a replacement."

"Tsk, there is really no hope for me"

The two actress at her back kept talking and that distracted Tracy from focusing on her game. She started listening to their conversation.

"Eileen smith is really coming here".

Eileen smith! Tracy was filled with disgust hearing that name again. Why must this name keep haunting her.

When she looked over, she really saw a beautiful make up face with a bright smile. This smile was like the early morning breeze. So pure and harmless.

Today Eileen was wearing a light magenta turquoise gown that shows her great accentuated curves and figure. She walked in swanky. Beside her was a handsome young  man.

Tracy felt uneasy in her heart. Everyone that was there greeted her as she pass. Eileen is very popular in the entertainment industry. Her name ring a bell everywhere. When she debuted, her first drama won the golden orchid award and she has been very popular since then. Beside her father is a well known director and film producer.

Eileen eyes lock into her for a spilt second. Eileen smiled and look away. Tracy had a bad feeling about that gesture and wanted to leave the lounge.

Eileen just finished talking with the assistant director.

"Miss harderson, where are you going". Eileen called. Tracy paused and look at her "How may I help you, miss Smith".

Eileen sat down opposite her and Tracy had no choice but to sit also. She couldn't act rashly here to avoid trouble. Even now many gaze were already piercing her skin.

"You can't even welcome your sister, huh dear sis". Eileen said.

Tracy chuckled. Since when did she have a dear sister.

"You are getting into the role too much. Doesn't it tire you playing this pretence game."

Eileen face turn a three sixty degrees. "Don't you dare malign me, Tracy".

"You are already popular, what else do you want from me".

Tracy bristled. Eileen laughed and pat her on the shoulder. "Cool, I'm not harming you. At least not for  now". Eileen whispered to her ear and Tracy had goosebumps. She bit her lips, suppressing the sudden urge to slap her.

Eileen saw her reaction and laughed wickedly.

Just then the young man walked over. This is Kyle Jensen, the young master of starry view entertainment industry. And also Eileen boyfriend.

"Tracy, can you just forgive me, let all that be in the past. Mom and dad really misses you". Eileen voice cracked, she was almost tearing up.

Tracy clench her fist and didn't know what to do. How can this woman play two role at the same time,a harmless, peaceful and gentle as the breeze and in one second, she is a villain. A perfect example of a wolf in sheep's clothing.

Meanwhile Kyle was already comforting his girlfriend.

He looked at Tracy with obvious contempt and disdain.

"You haven't change, let me warn you, don't you dare think of hurting Eileen or you bear the consequences".

"Mr Jensen, did you see me touch your girlfriend,if you are also here to cause me trouble, I will excuse myself".

"Come on, it's just a family dual. If you're mad,then I apologize". Eileen whispered softly.

"Sigh, you really don't deserve a sister like her. You are so kind and innocent,yet you are always apologizing for what you didn't do wrong. No human will have a heart to hate you". Eileen face turn pink. She gently poke him. "Stop it, you will hurt her feeling ". She was right because Tracy was really hurt. She felt bitter in her heart.  After everything that happened, she is nothing but a monster to him.

Tracy didn't give any comment. She continues with what she was doing. Not too long after, Eileen was called away.

"How have you been living?".

Tracy didn't even raise her head or reply him.

"I'm talking to you.  When did you become like this. Despite all you did, your family is still...."

"Mr Jensen, I'm not here to chitchat. Look around there are beautiful ladies here. You can go to them."

Kyle face turn black"Tracy, don't push your luck, what are you trying to do?"

Tracy stood up and moved to another seat.

"Hey, why did you change seat?"

"A bee was buzzing in my ear".

Gracie laughed out loud.

"How despicable". She glanced at the almighty mr Jensen who was looking at Tracy with a dark expression.

"Yeah, where did you go?"  Gracie threw  a card over to her.

"It'll soon be your turn. Get ready".

Once it was her turn, Tracy walked inside the hall.  She was asked to act a scene. After she was done, she bowed and left.

"How was her performance?"

"A bit better than others, I will

rate her 8 out of 10". The director and other higher-ups were now discussing about her.

"Call her back". The director said.

Meanwhile outside the hall

"How was it?"Gracie asked when Tracy came outside.

"Just so-so". Tracy sighed

"It's okay, don't feel unhappy. Come let go back". Gracie handed her satchel to her.

"Let grab something to eat first, I'm hungry".

They were already going when Tracy heard her number being called. She turned back and saw the assistant director calling for the actress with number twenty.

"I'm number twenty".

Tracy replied and waved her hand.

"Come inside, your attention is required".

Tracy was astonished but she followed the assistant director inside.

"You are the actress who just audition now".

"Yes".  Tracy was asked to react the scene again. After she was done "not bad,at least better than the rest." The stage director commented.

"I'm not impressed". Director McCoy shook his head.

He asked Tracy to do  another scene, this scene is a bit hard than the other.

Tracy did as requested. She perform very well that the higher-ups were clapping for her but the director McCoy was still like "just a bit manageable".

Tracy could finally understand why people always say this director is stingy with his praise. The smile on his face couldn't be hid. "Young lady, you can go now. I will send the contract to your company tomorrow."

Director McCoy said. Tracy was over the moon. It's was still like a dream to her.

"I made it". She announced to Gracie.

"Really, I knew you have it in you. Bravo". Gracie embraced her. "Call Danny and let him know". Tracy said and Gracie quickly dialed him.

Tracy was so happy, she went to the mall to buy groceries. She wanted to celebrate by cooking her favorite dishes. Only after paying for it that she remembers the contract she signed. She couldn't go back to her home now. Tracy felt sad again. She turned to Gracie and gave the bag to her."take it, my treat".

"Hey, what's wrong. You look unhappy". Gracie quickly notice the change in her countenance.

"Nothing, do you seriously wish for me to be unhappy". Tracy joke about it, covering it up with a smile.

She was indeed not happy. She seriously miss her free life. She feels like a prisoner in the eternal Spring garden. She is not free to her self and she so much long for her freedom again. Tracy doesn't like the way she is being force to do what she doesn't want to. 

After Gracie left, Tracy dial the driver number. The man was nearby as he hasn't left yet so he quickly came over to where Tracy was standing. After making sure that no one is looking around her, she entered the car. This car was a very expensive car, but it's the least expensive cars in the garage.
