Evan's POV
After getting everything ready, I left. First, I took a bus, then a boat—there were other travelers too, who also wanted to visit the island.
Honestly, I was feeling so happy because it was my first solo trip. I was a little nervous too, but not much.
After a few hours, the boat stopped, and I stepped down. I got into a taxi that was taking me to the seaside resort.
I was sitting in the passenger seat, looking around, when my attention went to a car—a completely black car, with windows so dark I couldn’t see inside.
Someone rich must be inside, like a celebrity, I thought. Suddenly, the car window slid down, and I saw eyes staring at me from the driver’s seat.
They were terrifying. I couldn’t see the face because of the darkness inside the car, but those eyes were like a demon’s.
I quickly looked away and focused fully on the road ahead, avoiding looking to my right for a few minutes. But I didn’t notice the car overtaking us, which meant it was still beside us. I glanced at my taxi driver.
“Uncle, can you drive faster? I’m in a hurry,” I said, hoping he would speed up. He nodded and pressed the pedal.
As our car moved ahead, I glanced at the black car again and saw the man’s face. He was extremely handsome, but his expression was so cold—it was terrifying.
His hair was dark, just like his eyes, and he kept looking at me as he drove.
Just then, our driver passed him, and I sighed in relief. Once I reached the resort, I was very excited and quickly forgot everything that had happened on the way here.
After all, it was just a brief encounter.
I first put my luggage in my room and noticed that it wasn’t a big resort, but I had only booked one room while the whole villa was already reserved.
I didn’t know who had done it—and honestly, I didn’t want to know either.
Since it was already evening, I quickly took a shower and changed into a loose white t-shirt and black shorts.
After getting ready, I left my room with my mobile in hand. I locked the door and glanced ahead.
I froze in place. The same man I had seen earlier, the one from the car, was standing near his vehicle.
Don’t tell me… he was staying here too?
Because we were in the car earlier, I had only seen his face. But now, seeing his full body, I thought he looked even more terrifying.
He was wearing a navy-blue suit with a white shirt underneath and leather shoes. His broad frame and every angle of his posture made him look like a mafia boss—or some kind of dangerous man.
But wait—why was I so scared of him? It wasn’t like he was going to do anything to me; he was just looking at me. And who knew—maybe his gaze was naturally like that. I couldn’t let myself be scared.
I took a deep breath and quickly walked to the other side of the resort, where everything was set up for dinner.
