Run or Stay

Ruby couldn't stand and soon realized she had walked into the blinding light of the arena. She saw the other boy raising his shield and pumping his chest.

Ruby looked down and realized that her hands were shaking. Then she heard the hysterical laughter in her head " Looks like your in trouble".

Ruby whispers " This is your fault, help me".

Celeste suddenly stops laughing " I did nothing and it would be best to let you handle it. Simply let go and believe in yourself".

Slowly the laughter faded off in her memory. After coming out of the daze she sees the boy already fighting two men bigger than him. Not knowing what else to do, she runs off into the shadows with people throwing things at her.

Soon enough the boy hits one on the head and uses the others axe to slice his calf. Soon the crowd cheers him on. He raises his shield and pumps his chest again. He begins walking towards the door again and Ruby joins him.

Just as they're about to enter, he pushes her back and door shuts behind him. He lifts her chin and looks her in the eye " Only people who fight come in.... If you survive of course"

He manages to push her into the center and soon she feels the dirt shift, a larger cage door opens and a the arena is filled with the roar of three fire lions who suddenly jump out. The crowd cheers and the angry lions charge right for her .

Not knowing what else to do ,she raises her shield and is met by enormous heat. She screams out as the shield burns her arms. She's suddenly pushed back and slams into the stone wall behind her.

Still in immense pain, she hears the boy from before mocking her and the cheers of the people as the lions circle around her.

She suddenly hears Celeste's hysterical laughter again and the sword flies into her hand. She gets up and begins laughing like a mad man.

Suddenly the whole arena goes quiet. She leaps into the air and creates a sort of earthquake in the arena. The fire lions slam into the walls. Still in the center, the first one to recover charges right for her and at the last minute she bends low and cuts the belly of the lion wide open.

With the body of the dead lion on the floor. The other two seem enraged and charge right for her. With her sword in the belly of the first one. She jumps on the back of one of the lions and a gasp of surprise fills the air.

The enraged lion's mane goes aflame, burning Ruby's' hands. Oddly enough she enjoys the pain and continues pulling the burning mane until it turns toward the second lion.

She jumps off and allows the other two to fight each other. She retracts the sword and let's a loud inhuman battle cry and charges for the two lions. She manages to stab one in the side while the other manages to get away.

The injured one falls to the floor, dead. The last one roars and charges for her. Ruby let's out a battle cry of her own and charges for it. Her sword gets stuck in the jaws of the lion and feels herself being crushed by its sheer weight.

With another shrill shout, she begins to gain ground and summons enough strength to actually snap the lion's neck. It slumps unto the floor, dead.

She raises her sword and cuts the head off. Breathing heavily, she raises it high and crowd begins to cheer for her. Someone announces something and calls her the " The Flame haired demon ".

Waving to the people as she goes. She enters into the dimly lit room again and is met by shocked and terrified faces staring at her. She heads towards the entrance and finds the two guards who threw her into the cell, laughing and collecting a small bag of possibly gold coins.

Filled with a sudden burning rage, she lifts her palm and a ball of fire shoots out and burns one of the men hands. They look surprised and bring out their weapons. She begins laughing hysterically and raises her hand.

The two men fall to their knees and hold their throats. Ruby uses her other hand to bend the metal door and pushes it out. She closes her hand and men roll over with blood coming out of her eyes. She walks out enjoying the fresh air and begins walking.

With her eyes glowing a flame like blood red color, she hears Celeste's voice in the back of her mind " Welcome, to your destiny "
