[Already seated, same corner table, Dorian Gray still open, hair perfect like he paid someone to blow dry it with magic.]

This is not a co-working space. This is my reading sanctuary.

Argent University has a temporary partnership with Rexford High. I’ll be studying here for two weeks.

[Staring at his phone.]

Just... thinking.

RAUL (Ezren’s teammate)

Is this about the emo-looking high schooler you keep stalking in the library?

[Dryly.]

I’m not stalking.

[Ash sat down first this time. Opened his book with a victorious smirk.]

[Ezren arrived five minutes later. Slid into his chair silently.]

...Are you intentionally ruining my peace now?

Ezren Vale (ML)

Yes.

Ash Elric (MC)

[Looks up, offended.]

Ash Elric (MC)

Wait—seriously?

Ezren Vale (ML)

[Smirks slightly.]

Peace is boring. You’re not.

[Ash blinked. For the first time in days, his snark stalled.]

Ash Elric (MC)

...Is this your idea of flirting? Because if it is, I give it a solid 2/10.

Ezren Vale (ML)

I don’t flirt.

Well, good. I don’t date statues.

Ash Elric (MC)

{Lies. I’d probably date a statue if it read poetry and wore good cologne. Crap.}

Yo Ash! That guy from the other school’s been asking about you.

Ash Elric (MC)

Axel Elric (younger twin)

Ezren. Apparently he’s into quiet places and quieter people.

Ash Elric (MC)

[Rolling his eyes.]

Ash Elric (MC)

He should marry a library then.

Aiden Elric (older twin)

[Drinking water beside him.]

Aiden Elric (older twin)

Maybe he wants someone with a little bite.

Ash Elric (MC)

...I’ll bite him with a dictionary.
