She opens the door and I see no one other than, Sengoku-kun. "Sengoku-kun!" Emma-san says "I've got the papers" she hands them over to Sengoku-kun. He grabs it and puts it on the table and asks "what brings Mita here?" "Well" I look at my scraped knee. "Oh, when did that happen?" "I slipped and fell on the floor" I say immediately. Emma-san gives me a side eye as she grabs a piece of cotton pad and a bandaid. "Yeah right, slipped and fell" she mocks me. Sengoku-kun seems confused. "Well it's nothing." I reply to make sure that nothing's wrong. I sit on a chair and Emma-san cleans my wound for me. I ask her not to and that I can do it myself but she keeps on insisting so I let her. Sengoku-kun is just minding his own business. "So Mita-san. What's the timing for your work?" Emma-san asks. "Its usually after school till 10pm." "Right. It must be hard work, right?" "Yeah you can say that. People think that , oh it's a Starbucks job it's so easy and stuff like that. But it's actually not" Emma-san smiles and says "I know. I used to work at a restaurant too." We keep talking for almost half an hour. The orange light of sunset breaks through the window and into the council room. I stand up on realizing that I've to go to work. Emma-san opens the window and lets the fresh air in. "Emma-san I've to go now. Thanks a lot for helping me." "No worries Mita-san" she replies heartily. "See you guys" I say as I wave and leave the council room.

I don't know why. But the council members. Just seem like. Friends. Real friends.

•Mother

After a long day at the café, Mita makes her way to go home. She sits on a bus and wait for her stop. It's nearly 10.30 pm. She gets off at her stops and walks a little. She opens the door and takes off her shoes and puts her stuff aside on the table near the door. "I'm home" she says in a low voice. There's a sound of chattering coming from the living room. She follows the voice and walks into the living room to see, a lady. A woman dressed casually and her father sitting next to her. "Oh Mita dear! Welcome!" "Who's this, dad?" She asks not so curiously. "She's your mother" he says. "What?! Mother?!" "Yes dear. She's gonna be your mother from now." "I don't want another mother! And she's certainly not your wife." The lady in the room gasps and looks at Mita's father. He seems furious. "How dare you say that! You spoiled brat! Go to your room. Begone!" He shouts infuriatingly. Mita storms into her room and shuts the door violently. She had had it. First her father got into a fight with mother. It was his fault. Then he brings another woman in the house saying that she's her mother. Mita doesn't accept it at all. She's laying on the bed in her room and thinking hard about what to do now. Her father has no job, they're short on money and he brings a woman too. Soon, the thoughts blurr her thinking and she eventually falls asleep.
