"Good morning, Sleepy Bones," her father greeted, his voice filled with love but tinged with worry. Alif, fifteen in the human world but a thousand years old in the vampire world, rose from her coffin, her body still stiff. "Wakey wakey, sleepyhead! Time for school!" Her father's tone was light, but Alif knew there was something unsaid.

She stretched and climbed out of the coffin, feeling tired and sluggish. She went to the bathroom to shower and get ready, her movements slow and listless. As she got ready, memories of the previous night flooded her mind—a dream filled with fear and apprehension.

Downstairs, her friends, Ena and Fino, greeted her. "Alif!" they exclaimed. "Good morning, sleepy bones!" Their smiles offered a little comfort, but her fatigue lingered.

"I'm so tired today," she mumbled, her voice weak and lifeless. She had no appetite. Her lethargy wasn't just from tiredness; it stemmed from a deep, inexplicable worry.

In the hallway, they encountered Brenda, the campus queen, her face radiating arrogance. "Oh hey, Ali," she greeted, her tone laced with mockery. "Party tonight?" "Nope," Alif replied curtly. Brenda's rudeness annoyed her, but she chose to ignore it.

"Are you sure you're okay?" Ena asked, her voice laced with concern. Alif seemed unusually listless. "Yeah, why?" Alif replied, but her tiredness fueled her irritation.

"You look awful today, Ali," Fino said, rolling her eyes. His teasing brought a small smile, but her fatigue remained.

Suddenly, a cold voice called out. "Aliiiif!" She jumped. "Ms. Montero, are you alright?" asked Ms. Shin Lee, her teacher. "Y...yeah, I'm fine," she stammered, her heart pounding.

She quickly left the classroom, following the voice. "I know you're here," she whispered, her heart filled with fear and apprehension. A man in black, his back turned, stood before her. "Calsipher?" she asked, her voice trembling.

He slowly turned. "Good day, Alif," he greeted, his voice cold and menacing. "What are you doing here?" Alif asked, her voice filled with worry.

"Aren't you going to greet me, Alif?" Calsipher asked, his eyes filled with annoyance. "Ouch! My own niece, and you're confronting me," he said as he approached. "I'm here because I have good news for you."

"Tell me," Alif said, her voice filled with apprehension. "Do you know what happened to your mother?" The question shocked her.

"They imprisoned and tortured her," Calsipher replied, his voice filled with anger. "Verona rules Edolon," he added.

Calsipher's description of her mother's plight filled Alif with immense pain and rage. "Verona! She'll pay!" she shouted, her voice filled with determination.

"Come. We're going to Edolon," Calsipher said. But Alif had an exam! "Not now," she said, her voice filled with worry. "Okay, I'll wait for you," Calsipher said before vanishing.

That night, she talked to her father, Cleff. "I wish you wouldn't go to Edolon, but I can't stop you," her father said sadly. "Dad, I want to see Mom. I want to rescue her from Verona's evil," Alif said, her voice filled with determination.

"You know Verona is a dangerous enemy," her father said. "But I'm worried about Mom," Alif said. "I am too, I'm worried about your mother," her father replied.

Alif hugged her father. "Don't worry, Dad. Nothing will happen to me, I promise. When I return, I'll bring Mom with me." Her words were filled with determination and hope. "You promise?" her father asked, filled with worry. "I promise, Dad," Alif replied.

Her conversation with Calsipher led Alif to a crucial decision. She had to go to Edolon to save her mother. She knew it was dangerous, but she was ready to face any danger for her mother. Her love for her mother was stronger than her fear. Her journey to Edolon was not just a journey for her mother's safety, but a journey for herself—a journey to discover her true abilities and her true identity. Her journey was a test, but she was ready to face it. Her journey was an adventure, but she was ready to embark on it. Her journey was a fight, but she was ready to fight for her mother, for her family, and for herself.
