Episode 2

In the noon, when it was a break time. I went down, near the reception counter to wait for my boss to arrive.

As I reached, I saw that he was already waiting for me. For a moment I thought I was late but then, when I check time I was not.

I rushed towards him and apologized for being late.

“Sorry for being late sir”.

Quickly he replied. “ Noo.. no.. your not, I just finish my work so I came down early”.

We then proceeded for lunch.

As we entered the restaurant, I felt as if I was treated like a princess. It was like a date that any girl would dream about.

Table was already reserved, and every thing was well prepared. As we took our seat, both were equally uncomfortable because we had no idea what to talk.

Just then he spoke. “So tell me about yourself”, was the question that he shoot first.

“About me?” I asked to clarify just in case, I misheard his question.

“Who else is around I would ask.” Came a reply.

“ Sorry sir, well I come from a very simple family, I live with my mom, dad and little brother. I just completed my studies in fashion designing and now here to work for your company…. …. ….”. I went on talking.

Just then I realised that I spoke for really a very long time. And all he did was just listen to me and there I could see a smile, in-fact that was a blush.

Ohhh.. my god, my boss just blushed rather than just getting bored or asking me to shut my mouth. This was first time in history that someone could just listen to me without complaining.

All the while people only complained that I talk a lot and am non-stop, but it's first time someone is listening to me.

“Am sorry sir, am sure I bored you with my stupid talks”, I apologized for being talkative.

“No Jane, that was really interesting, infact I was soo much into you, I mean your words, I really enjoyed listening to you.” Came the reply which I never expected.

“I am falling for this girl every time I see her, I like to spend time with her. She just makes me feel so complete, I feel am in love with her." Robert kept thinking about Jane and he wanted her to feel the same.

He was trying all his efforts to make her feel special and wanted to know, if she too feels the same just like he does.

As he was busy thinking something deeply, Jane broke his thoughts by calling him Sir, and asking, if they can leave soon.

“Sir, if you don’t mind, could we leave sooner. I have to finish my work before I leave from office.” She requested.

“ Yeah sure, lets go then.” He replied.

As we where above to depart, he suddenly asked me. “Jane, you can call me just Robert.”

I was stunned for a moment, will it be appropriate to call my boss just by his name, what would other employees think, who call him boss or sir but me calling him by his name. I was lost in my thoughts, just then he asked.

“Hello, are you dreaming again?”

“No… no sir, nothing. I mean Robert. Anyway thank you for the lunch.”

“ So see you later?”

“Yeah sure sir. I mean Robert.” I felt so embarrassed for doing this mistake again and again.

“It’s alright Jane, see you then”. He laughed and waved a goodbye, and left.

I was still there thinking about the moment that just happened, I don’t know if I was happy or confused. Just then I realised I was getting late for my work, for which I rushed.

I tried avoiding Robert when there where other employees present next to us, because I did not want to call him by his name and let others think something wrong about us.

Somewhere he too knew, why I did this. He always tried to make me feel special, for which I was scared, if this leads to somewhere else.

I decided not to think much about him, as I know the more I think.. more uncomfortable I may feel.

So the best way is to avoid dreaming and also reduce or try it avoid... having an interaction with Robert.

Things were normal as days passed. I had finally decided to meet Stella. It had been a long time, since I had seen her. So we decided to meet at the cafe, where we always met.

“I have so much to talk to Stella.” I thought.

I reached cafe and spotted Stella sitting at a regular table, as I entered.. lady at the café gave me a smile, just like she always did.

“Hello Mrs. Leann, how are you?”

“Am fine darling, after so long.. I see you today. Your friend is over there waiting for you.” Mrs leann answered.

“ Thank you Mrs. Leann, catch you later”.

“ Hey.. Stella.” I rushed towards her.

“ Oh sweetheart.. you’re here, am waiting for a long time. Tell me what’s up, I know I have a lot to listen. Come on start”. she made herself comfortable and signalled me to start my talk.

Stella knows me so well, she does not need an explanation but just with my reaction, she can guess what is going on.

I started narrating everything that happened from the start, how I went for an interview and how I was treated by my boss.. err.. sorry Robert.

She too got the same doubt just like I had.

“Jane, I feel he is in love with you. Why would he treat you differently unlike other employees?”

I was confused after listening to Stella, I wanted to avoid these stuff but how?

“Stella, what do I do now?”

“OK honey let me help you, you are going to give me detailed information.. what ever happens between you both, may be then I can figure out something.”

“Yeah!! That will be a great idea.”

And then we ordered our regular coffee and continued our chit-chat. Just then my eyes caught something I was shocked.

“Stella! look there, he is the same guy.”

“ Who and where?” Stella was totally confused with my sudden reaction.

There was a guy straight to our table, who was looking towards me. He was no one else but the same stranger I encountered.. when I was going for my interview.

“How come he was here?” I spoke loudly.

“Jane, what is wrong with you, what are you talking about and whom. Who is here?” she questioned with little irritated voice.

“Stella, I told you about a psycho, who met on the street when I was going for my interview. He is here right straight to our table and he is looking at us.”

“Am scared if he is really a psycho and came to catch me because I shouted last time?”

“Oh Honey! nothing like that, he does not look like a psycho. Infact he is so handsome. Wish I could date him.” Stella looked at him and smiled.

“Oh noo.. he is the same psycho am telling you. Lets go from here. I think he is following me. What do I do now?” I panicked.

“Ok, if you say so, then lets move.” Stella got up from her seat and we moved out in a hurry.

As we were walking down the street, I checked back again and again.. If he was still following. But there was no trace of anyone.

“Jane, just relax ok. He isn’t following I told you”. She confirmed and comforted me.

“Yeah.. ok then see you tomorrow. I want to rush back home.” I was still worried.

“Sweetheart, should I walk with you till home? You look scared.” she could sense the fear I felt.

“Hmm.. am fine Stella, I think.. I just need some rest that’s all. See you tomorrow.” I bid good-bye to Stella and started walking towards home.
