The air seems to be knocked out of your lungs as the words leave his mouth.
Before he can get another word out, you run into your shared bedroom and slam the door shut. You let your tears stream freely, not being able to hold them back any longer.
Your body shakes as you uncontrollably sob. You grab at your arms, holding them tightly, the more you sob the harder your nails dig into your skin.

After a few minutes, your sobs die down, and he decides to go check on you because he feels a little guilty for being so harsh.
