He gets out of bed and heads to a convenience store.

Jovan grabs two bottles of alcohol and walks to the counter.
Convenience Store Worker
Is that all, sir?

*points at a pack of cigarettes.* Oh, and add that pack of smokes, too.
Convenience Store Worker
That'll be 150 pesos, sir.
Jovan hands over 120 pesos.
Convenience Store Worker
*looks at the money* You're 30 pesos short, sir.
Jovan just stares on the air blankly.
Convenience Store Worker
Um, sir? Hello?

*snaps back to reality* Oh, right. Sorry. Here’s the 30 pesos.
Convenience Store Worker
*frowns* Thanks. *hands him the receipt* Please come again!
Jovan crumples the receipt and heads outside.

She spots some dirty food and examines it.

The girl startled, and the food falls from her hands.

AHH! My food! *looks at the man angrily.* Hey, mister, don’t sneak up on me like that!

The girl rushes into the store to buy a meal.

The girl sits beside Jovan and digs into her food.

So, why are you out here alone? Where are your parents or guardian?
Girl
I don’t have any. I'm an orphan. *Coughs* I snuck out of the orphanage because the food is not enough to stop my hunger.

That’s kind of crazy. You shouldn’t be out here on your own.
Girl
Don’t worry! I’m good on my own and also good at avoiding creepy people.

Jovan returns home and flops down on his bed.
