Distance

The basement was silent. Cold. The kind of silence that only existed in places made for pain. The walls were soundproof. Blood had stained the floor more than once. This room… wasn’t new to screams.
A single bulb hung from the ceiling, swaying gently. Beneath it, a man—tied to a chair, wrists bound behind him, blood dripping from his mouth.
Min Daehyun (bodyguard)
Min Daehyun (bodyguard)
P-Please, Jungkook... you’ve known me since I was eighteen. I watched you grow up… don’t do this (said weakly)
Jeon jungkook
Jeon jungkook
(quietly, stepped forward) That’s exactly why you should’ve known better. You knew the rules. You knew the cost of betrayal.
Jungkook stood tall in front of him, wearing black gloves and a dark shirt with the sleeves rolled up. There was no emotion on his face. No anger. No hatred. Only... silence.
Jeon jungkook
Jeon jungkook
You tried to sell my family’s secrets to the Park syndicate. You stole classified intel from the vault. You thought I wouldn’t notice?
Min Daehyun (bodyguard)
Min Daehyun (bodyguard)
I-I swear… I didn’t mean to—It wasn’t what it looked like, I—
Jeon jungkook
Jeon jungkook
(cutting off but still calm) I followed you for three days. Watched you slip that drive into your pocket. Watched you meet their informant. Watched you hand it over.
Min Daehyun (bodyguard)
Min Daehyun (bodyguard)
You don’t understand! They threatened my family! I had no choice!
Jeon jungkook
Jeon jungkook
( stepped closer and crouched to Daehyun's level)We all have choices, Daehyun. You just made the wrong one.
He reached for the table beside him—neatly arranged tools, surgical even. He picked up a small blade, sharp and clean.
Jeon jungkook
Jeon jungkook
(asked soflty) Do you know what my father taught me about traitors?
Min Daehyun (bodyguard)
Min Daehyun (bodyguard)
Please... please don’t— (his voice was shaking and he was trembling in fear)
Jeon jungkook
Jeon jungkook
(interrupted daehyun and said) He said they should bleed until they remember who they belonged to. But I’m not like my father. I prefer they don’t forget who bled them.
Without warning, Jungkook dragged the blade slowly across Daehyun’s shoulder—controlled, not deep enough to kill, just enough to hurt. Daehyun screamed.
Min Daehyun (bodyguard)
Min Daehyun (bodyguard)
AHH! Please! I’m sorry! I’ll do anything!
Jeon jungkook
Jeon jungkook
Anything? Can you bring back the trust you broke? (asked coldly)
He didn’t flinch. He didn’t pause. He worked in silence, blade after blade. Daehyun's cries filled the room, but Jungkook’s expression never changed.
Jeon jungkook
Jeon jungkook
You once carried me on your shoulders during training. But none of that matters now, does it?
Min Daehyun (bodyguard)
Min Daehyun (bodyguard)
You’re a monster... just like your father...(He said while sobbing)
Jeon jungkook
Jeon jungkook
No. He trained monsters. I became one. (Jungkook voice turned colder than ice)
After nearly an hour, Jungkook stepped back. Blood soaked Daehyun’s shirt. He was barely conscious.
Jeon jungkook
Jeon jungkook
Lock him in Cell 3. No food. No water. He’ll rot before he dies. (said to the guards)

Yes Sir
Jungkook turned his back and walked out of the basement. His boots left bloody prints on the floor.
He didn’t look back. There was nothing to feel. Nothing to regret. Just silence—and purpose.
Twenty-eight years. That’s how long Jeon Jungkook had lived inside a cage built from silence, blood, and control. A cage his father carefully designed and locked from the inside. He didn’t know warmth. He didn’t know friendship. He didn’t know what it meant to be held. His world had no lullabies. Only the echo of gunshots and the sharp slice of blades through flesh.
FLASHBACK-Jungkook, age 16
Jeon Daewoon
Jeon Daewoon
Again . You missed the heart by half an inch ( said in a commanding voice)
Jeon jungkook
Jeon jungkook
he was moving- ( said panting while holding a bloodied knife)
Jeon Daewoon
Jeon Daewoon
(coldly) so will your enemies. Do it again and no hesitation
Day by day, year after year, Daewoon trained him himself. Martial arts, hand-to-hand combat, boxing, gun handling, survival tactics. Jungkook became more than skilled—he became deadly. Precise. Unfeeling.
FLASHBACK- Jungkook, age 20
A person was tied to a chair and was bleeding heavily. He was looking down and begging to Jungkook.

Please… I have a daughter—she’s five—please let me go—
Jeon jungkook
Jeon jungkook
She’ll grow up knowing her father made a mistake. And mistakes cost lives. (said without any emotions and without any expression)
One shot. Straight to the heart. No emotion. No regret. Just another name erased. Another soul buried.
PRESENT
At twenty-eight, Jungkook had killed more people than he remembered. Most of them weren’t even enemies—just lessons. People his father marked for him as “training.” And he obeyed. Without blinking.
He didn’t ask questions. He didn’t flinch.

He's colder than his father was ( whispered to himself)
There were no birthdays. No celebrations. He didn’t know what cake tasted like. He had never received a hug. And his mother?
According to Jungkook
Jeon jungkook
Jeon jungkook
I don't have one.
Mira still lived in the mansion. She watched him from afar—watched her son become a ghost with a heartbeat. But he never looked her in the eye. Never spoke a word to her. To Jungkook, she was a shadow. A stranger. A woman who didn’t matter.
He didn’t recognize warmth. He didn’t believe in kindness. He only knew power, loyalty—and blood. But fate has a cruel sense of humor. Because the world he had been kept from… Was now coming for him.
The door to the interrogation chamber creaked open. Jungkook walked out, bloodstains still fresh on his gloves, his black boots echoing coldly through the marble floor.
Jungkook went to see his father in Main office - Jeon Daewoon’s wing
The large mahogany doors opened as Jungkook stepped in. His father was standing by the window, sipping whiskey, overlooking the Jeon estate.
Jeon Daewoon
Jeon Daewoon
is it done? (Asked without turning back)
Jeon jungkook
Jeon jungkook
Yes. Daehyun won’t speak again. He’ll never betray us—or anyone else—ever again. The stolen files were retrieved before they left the mansion. (he said calm and cold)
His voice was as flat as paper. No flicker of pride. No anger. No satisfaction.
Jeon Daewoon
Jeon Daewoon
(turned around and nodded with approval)Good. That rat thought he was clever. But you—you’ve learned well. Quick. Clean. Precise. You’ve become exactly what I’ve built you to be.
He walked closer and clapped a hand on Jungkook’s shoulder, proud.
Jeon Daewoon
Jeon Daewoon
(said smirking)You’re not just my son, Jungkook. You’re my legacy. A masterpiece. One day, they’ll fear your name more than they fear mine.
Jeon jungkook
Jeon jungkook
I didn’t do it for legacy. I did it because that’s what I’ve been taught. To erase threats. Nothing more. ( his face was expressionless and said while staring into his father's eyes)
Daewoon’s smile faded slightly at the tone—but he didn’t comment.
Jungkook didn’t move. Didn’t blink. To him, it was just another completed task. No sense of pride. No feeling of purpose. Just emptiness wrapped in silence.
Jeon Daewoon
Jeon Daewoon
(grinning faintly)You’ve grown into the perfect man, son.
Jeon jungkook
Jeon jungkook
(quietly, almost to himself) Then why does it all feel… meaningless?
Daewoon didn’t hear—or maybe chose not to.
The hallway was quiet, filled with the scent of fresh lilies from the vases lined up against the walls. Mira stood there, clutching a small tray of food, her hands trembling slightly—not from fear, but from hope. She had heard he was back. Her son.
Jeon Mira
Jeon Mira
(spoke softly to herself) He’s here… after days… maybe he’ll talk to me today. Just a minute… just one word…
Footsteps echoed from around the corner—firm, heavy, confident. And there he was. Jeon Jungkook. Taller than she remembered. Dressed in black. His face calm, composed, but lifeless. Eyes that didn’t shine—eyes that had seen too much darkness too soon.
Jeon Mira
Jeon Mira
Jungkook... (her voice was shaking with uncontrollable emotions)
But He didn’t stop. Didn’t slow down. His eyes stayed ahead, walking past her like she didn’t exist.
Jeon Mira
Jeon Mira
(she stepped forward, desperate)Wait—please, I… I made your favorite—just some warm soup. You used to love it when you were little, remember?
No response
He walked straight ahead, silent
As if her voice didn’t reach him. As if she was just another maid. As if she had never existed in his world.
She stood frozen. The tray in her hands trembling. Tears brimmed in her eyes, but she blinked them away. Her voice dropped into a whisper.
Jeon Mira
Jeon Mira
You’re still my baby, Jungkook… Even if you don’t look at me… Even if you’ve forgotten… (her voice was barely audible)
To Jungkook, Mira wasn’t "mother." She was a woman he passed in the hallway sometimes. A stranger who tried to give him warmth he no longer understood. His father had erased that part of him a long time ago. And Jungkook never looked back to search for it.
