**AHROI RATHORE** – 25 years old. The eldest daughter of the Rathore family.

She is sweet-hearted and compassionate, but knows how to assert herself.

Ahroi aspires to be an actress, although this ambition is frowned upon in her society due to its harsh judgments.

**REENA RATHORE** – 47 years old. Ahroi's mother and a homemaker.

She has a deep love for her daughters and supports them in her subtle ways.

**ABHINAV RATHORE** – Ahroi's father, a businessman.

He adores his daughters and encourages them to pursue their dreams.

**ASSHVI RATHORE** – Ahroi’s younger sister.

Playful and innocent, she has a strong bond with her sister and often only listens to her.

 **Ahroi’s Voice*

Hello, I’m Ahroi, 25 years of age. I have recently finished my studies in theatre, and I am beginning to land small roles in the entertainment field. I am fine with any part, whether it’s a supporting role in short films or episodic series. I see every role as an opportunity to learn and progress as an actor.

My mother isn’t entirely at ease with my career choice—perhaps due to society's perception of actresses. In our community, they’re not afforded much respect. Nevertheless, my parents have opted to support me in pursuit of my dreams and independence. My father, in particular, recognizes the importance of chasing one's aspirations. He once harbored ambitions of becoming a doctor but had to relinquish that dream after my grandfather's passing, which placed family responsibilities on his shoulders.

One evening, after a tiring day of shooting, I returned home and encountered my aunt, my father's sister, who was visiting. I greeted her courteously before heading to my room to freshen up. I have never particularly liked her; she always says hurtful things whenever she visits, often directed at me and my sister.

At dinner that night, we all gathered around the table. Out of the blue, my aunt declared:

“I shared some photos of Ahroi with a friend of mine. His son is interested in marrying her."

I was taken aback. She hadn’t even consulted me or discussed it with my parents beforehand.

**REENA (to my aunt\, Rettu):**

“Sorry, Didi. Ahroi is currently focusing on her career.”

**RETTU (aunt):**

“What career? An actress? They merely earn a living by flaunting their appearance and bodies.

We come from a respectable family—there’s no room for girls who sell themselves like that.

She’s just a girl. Marry her off and relieve us of the burden.

Then you can have a son-in-law—an heir for your property.”

**ABHINAV:**

“Sister, my daughter is well-educated. She can manage my business independently.

As for marriage, that will happen when she’s ready. So let’s not discuss it further. Please, enjoy your dinner.”

I felt a wave of joy. My father’s backing mattered immensely to me.

My aunt was with us for a week. While she ceased discussing my marriage, she continued to make harsh comments about my mother, especially regarding not having a son, or for permitting me to pursue acting.

During this time, my sister Asshvi was away on a college trip to Kashmir. She was unaware of my aunt's visit.

I was overwhelmed with happiness. My father’s support meant the world to me.

My aunt stayed with us for a week. She stopped talking about my marriage, but still threw cruel jabs at my mother, especially for not having a son, or for allowing me to pursue acting.

During this period, my sister Asshvi was away on a college trip in Kashmir. She was unaware that my aunt was coming to visit.

It's been about a month since that incident. I've begun to spend less time pursuing acting and more time working at my father's office. I'm truly enjoying the experience of learning about business now. It's demanding, but I'm doing my utmost.

Today\, my father has an important meeting with **Rajvanshi Corporation**—a prominent company with branches throughout India. They also operate in the entertainment sector. A few months back\, I would had been thrilled to be involved in that area of their business. However\, things have changed; I now aspire to manage my father's company.

During the meeting, while my father's assistant was making a presentation, I sensed someone observing me.

It was a man from Rajvanshi Corporation. He quickly looked away as soon as I caught his gaze.

I dismissed it and returned to taking notes.
