The next day, I sat in school. I didn't feel like saying anything. I didn't feel anything. Suddenly the bell rang.

" Langue, are you ok?" I heard someone ask. It knew who it was before even looking over. Annabelle, standing near my seat, a worried expression on her face.

I forced a smile," It's nothing"

" Ok, well, my friends and I are going for lunch. You coming?" She asked sincerely.

I smiled, genuinely this time and said," Yeah"

Though my mind kept racing back to what happened yesterday, I did feel better, safer around them. As I walked home, it got worst. I tried to hide it but as soon as we went our speeds ways the fear was clearly seen on my face.

I entered the house. I hesistated as I said," Afternoon, Mom."

" Was it not good?" She asked.

" What?"

" Is this afternoon not good?" She asked.

" No." I said quickly and without any hesitation.

I sat at the table again forcing myself to do homework as all I wanted was to go upstairs and roll up in my sheets. When I was done I took a bath an in the bathroom, that is when I realized how bad I was hit. There was bruises everywhere. There was also deep scratches from the sharp handle of the belt.

I covered my body, heading to my bedroom before shutting the door. I put on clothes and sat at my designated seat at the table. As my mom laid out the table, I could see a little sliver of a smile. Soon my dad reached home and we all ate as a family like nothing ever happened. I followed my schedule and went to sleep.

The next day, I was mostly back to my normal self. At breaktime Annabelle's whole friend group from the class sat at the table talking about different things and soon about relationships.

" Have you ever been in a relationship?" Zenna, one of the four girls in the friend group asked me.

" No, why?" I said.

" Really?" She asked surprised before saying," I was sure you had one"

" Why?"

" Have you seen yourself? You are quite literally the epitome of cute." She stated

" I am?" I asked blushing upon hearing this.

Everyone turned and looked at me surprised.

" You're not serious right?" Annabelle asked, only to be met by my confusion.

" Oh My God! No way!" Annabelle shouted.

" Ok, it's not that weird" I replied downplaying it.

" No like both girls and guys will want a piece of you"

"Ok, Stop it" I said embarrassed before questioning," Well, are you guys in a relationship?"

" Ellie boyfriend goes to another school and Novia's boyfriend is Jason" Zevia said nudging her head in Novia's direction.

I looked over and there was Novia, sitting comfortably in Jason's lap as both of them watched videos together.

" Their cuteness together is just almost disgusting" Zevia said looking over at Novia who showed a middle finger to Zevia.

" I love you" Zevia said to Novia who blew a kiss to her. Jason catches the imaginary kiss and put it on his lips and then they began making out right there.

" Interesting" I said.
