But it’s for regular ball — Zino modifies it.

Makes it smaller and tighter so helium balloons don’t fly out

Uses mosquito net + chicken wire + mama’s old curtain for layers

Paints “Balloon League” at the top in red marker

🪜 Zino also buys a wooden ladder from carpenter Hassan for:

He paints it bright yellow and writes “Ball Drop Tower” on the side.

You walk into the School of Lagos, dusty sandals and all.

Bell rings once – first period is over.

You and your guys are already planning your formation for today’s Balloon League match.

Second break comes and everyone RUNS to the school field.

Folake (Team A) and Peace (Team B) jump to catch it.

Folake chest-controls it down, passes quickly to Bolu. Game on!

🕹️ FIRST HALF

3’ – Bolu dribbles two, shoots — it bounces and floats into net.

6’ – Sandra takes control, flicks it over Sadeeq, passes to Rasaq…

Shoots… balloon touches net… but BURSTS!

Zino:

“OH NO! Yellow card! Balloonicide!”

8’ – Emeka dives to stop a pass… lands face first 😭 crowd laughs

Zino:

“No VAR, but I saw comedy.”

10’ – Peace curves it toward goal… saved by Ebuka! Dramatic roll after 😂

🕰️ SECOND HALF

13’ – Gboyega tries a power volley — balloon flies TOO high

Zino:

“That one dey go Abuja.”

15’ – Folake wins it back, feeds Bolu, cross to Sadeeq…

Header GOAL!

Air Kickers 2 – 0 Sky Titans

18’ – Timi (Sky Titans’ keeper) tries mouth-pass goal kick

Balloon slips from lips mid-pass 😭

Zino:

“Penalty! Wrong pass technique!”

Penalty given.

19’ – Musa steps up…

He balances… he steps…

And then…

BURSTS the penalty balloon!!

Zino blows the whistle, hands go up:

“AUTOMATIC GOAL! Thank you, rules!”

🏁 FINAL SCORE:

Everyone claps.

Kids run around shouting,

“Balloon League sweet die!”

“Next match na me I must score!”

Zino counts the money, pockets it with pride, and tells Bashiru:

“Next week... we add REF JERSEYS.”
