"An alpha white female shifter bows to show respect to this lowly Alpha, I am indeed impressed. Will you come with me?" His chuckle was warm and full of love, something that was foreign to me.
I nodded hesitantly as I followed the man with a cane all the way to his pack house.
The warriors' jaws almost dropped when they saw me at the entrance of the pack house, but soon recovered and bowed to us before opening the door.
The pack house was amazing, it was beautiful with its old yet fashionable choice of design. We passed the main hall, the dining room, game room, movie room, a lot of closed doors, then finally we made it to the living room.
He sat down slowly as he patted the seat next to him. I ignored him and sat across from him on a leather chair.
Amusement played in his eyes as he watched me like I was the most interesting thing in the world.
" The last white female shifter died one thousand years ago. And a thousand years later an Alpha white female shifter shows up." He says with pain in his voice, which he tried hiding with a smile. I simply just stared him in the eyes as he talked, letting him know I was listening.
"I don't care about what you did to wander on my pack, or why an Alpha female shifter is out alone, all I care about is who you are." He looks more serious now. "My mate and pups were killed in my younger days, and I couldn't bring myself to mate with another person. I have no heirs or qualified candidates for my Alpha position. My beta can't handle the job."
"You are the best person for my position, will you accept." The seriousness in this could kill at this point. I have nothing to go back to. I don't want to go back either, or meet that black wolf again. But to take on the Alpha position? That might be hard since I knew the chances of me succeeding my pack was zero, so I never thought about it.
Will I accept it or not?
The old man sighs, bringing my attention back to him. "Child, you're still young, don't worry about it right now and stay here for a few days before you decide, okay?"
I felt easy with this man, and I loved that feeling, that is all I know. I want to stay near him. I shook my head up and down slowly, answering his question.
Happiness danced in his eyes as he stood up. "I'm Axel, nice to meet you." I shook my head "yes" as I licked his hand.
"I'll get you a room, and I'll inform the pack about your arrival." He happily left the room, mind linking to his pack.
I sat there, taking in what I just heard. What if he doesn't want me after he knows who I am? His beta would recognize me in human form. Should I stay a wolf forever? I can always mind linking people to talk. I'll have to do this, or I'll be unwanted by Axel.
I decided right there and then, on a leather chair, in the middle of my neighboring pack, that I would do everything I can for Axel, the first person to truly be nice to me.
And that's just what I did. I spent the last six years in my wolf form, never changing to human form once. All the pack members greeted me kindly and would talk to me when I walked through town. I didn't mind linking with people since it felt better not to talk, but that led to the misunderstanding that Axel had. He thought I had some disease which wouldn't let me back to my human form, and some even thought I was raised by wild wolves.
