Lena blinked, her eyes narrowing in confusion. "What...what are you talking about?" she stammered, her mind racing to catch up.
Maddie
The stranger raised an eyebrow, his expression incredulous. "You don't remember, huh? I saved your life, and now you owe me. Simple as that."
Lena (fl)
Lena's face scrunched up in confusion. "Owe you? What do you mean?
Maddie
The stranger let out a low, exasperated sigh. "Look, lady, I don't have time for this. I pulled you out of that wreck, and now the doctors are billing me for your care. I need that money back."
Lena's eyes widened, her mind reeling. What was he talking about? Why would she owe him money?
The doctor's words hung in the air, and Lena's gaze snapped back to the stranger. She studied his face, searching for any hint of kindness or compassion.

You?" she whispered, her voice barely audible. "You're the one who saved me?"
Maddie
The stranger's expression remained stoic, but a hint of something flickered in his eyes. "Yeah, that's right," he said gruffly. "Now, about that money..."
She kept staring at him, silent and unresponsive, until he finally gave up on wasting any more of his time.

Maddie
Ok, so for now, pay your all remaining bills and...
He takes out a pen from doctor's shirt and writes her number on her palm.
Maddie
"This is my number, and you have one week, pay me back till that last day of this week, understand?"
He says and turns to put the pen back to doctor's pocket and gets out of the room like a sudden storm, who came in a blink, said not a word, and went back too...
Doctor
The doctor cleared his throat, breaking the silence. "Well, Lena, it seems you've got a bit of a situation on your hands."
Lena's eyes remained fixed on the door, her mind reeling from the sudden whirlwind that had swept through her room.
She inquired about her phone, wondering if it had survived the accident. Thankfully, she had stored it in the glove compartment's document box while driving, which had cushioned the impact. Although the phone was damaged, it was still usable.
Doctor
The doctor nodded affirmatively. "Yes, your phone is right here. Nerese, could you please return her phone?"
She dialed a number, and as soon as the person on the other end picked up, they burst into tears.

📲"I'm sending you the hospital's address. Come and pick me up," Lena said, trying to reassure the worried voice on the other end of the call.
