Profitable Heroics

Profitable Heroics

Chapter 1: I’m Just Here for the Money

Hiiiiiii!

Izuku Midoriya did not want to be a hero.

Heroes were reckless. Heroes were underpaid. Heroes were expected to care.

And Izuku? He didn’t care. Not about justice, not about villain reform, not about “saving smiles.” He cared about one thing.

Money.

And UA’s entrance exam?

That was a paycheck waiting to be cashed.

A simple gig—go in, smash some robots, collect the hefty participation fee UA was handing out for liability reasons, and leave. No strings attached.

Easy. Right?

---

Step 1: Destroy Robots. Collect Cash. Leave.

Izuku cracked his knuckles as the exam countdown began.

He had no quirk. No fancy strength. No explosions, no lasers, no ice powers. Nothing.

But what he did have was practice.

Because when money was involved, Izuku learned how to get good at things.

And robot destruction? That was high-paying work.

Scrap metal sold for a fortune if you knew where to trade it. And let’s just say—Izuku knew.

So when the gates opened—he moved.

One. He vaulted onto a three-pointer, yanking out exposed wiring like he was harvesting cash from an ATM.

Two. He side-stepped a missile, flipped onto another bot’s shoulders, and stabbed a screwdriver straight into its processor.

Three. He drop-kicked a one-pointer so hard its head snapped clean off.

It was disturbingly efficient.

And the worst part? He wasn’t even breaking a sweat.

Step 2: Oh No, People Are Watching.

From the observation room, the UA staff watched in stunned silence.

"…Who is this kid?" Present Mic whispered.

Nezu leaned forward, fascinated. "Izuku Midoriya. Quirkless. Yet somehow outperforming most of our recommended students."

"Quirkless?!" Midnight’s jaw dropped. "Then—how is he—"

"Ripping robots apart with his bare hands?" Aizawa finished, staring as Izuku methodically dismantled another bot.

"And why does he look like he’s calculating resale value while doing it?" All Might added.

Because yes—Izuku wasn’t just breaking them.

He was looting them.

Stuffing valuable circuits, gears, and power cores into a makeshift duffel bag like he was preparing for a trade deal.

"He’s treating this like a business venture," Nezu mused, absolutely delighted.

"…Should we stop him?" Snipe asked.

Nezu’s eyes gleamed. "No. I want to see what he does next."

---

Step 3: Save Someone? Accidentally?

Izuku was having a great time.

Until.

"HELP!"

Izuku groaned.

Because, of course—someone had to be in danger.

He turned—and sure enough, there was a girl trapped under debris.

"Goddammit," he muttered.

This wasn’t his problem. He was only here for the paycheck.

But then—he remembered something.

Good PR \= More Opportunities \= More Money.

With a sigh, he ran over.

"Don’t move," he said, shoving debris off her with expert precision. "I’ve got this."

"You’re saving me?" The girl gasped.

"Not for free," Izuku muttered, yanking her up. "You owe me lunch."

Before she could respond—a shadow loomed over them.

The Zero-Pointer.

The massive, hulking death machine rumbled forward. People screamed.

Izuku?

He just sighed. More parts to sell.

"Stay here," he said. "I’ve got work to do."

And then—he ran straight at it.
