The Obsession Unveiled

The night had barely ended, but the chaos was just beginning.

Alina sat at the kitchen counter, still reeling from the events of the past day. Her car’s brakes had been tampered with. Someone had snuck into her bathroom. Kai was getting bolder.

But right now? Right now, she was stuck watching Aiden Knight—the ruthless, terrifying billionaire—standing in the kitchen, trying to make pancakes like some kind of domestic boyfriend.

Ava, Alina’s best friend, leaned against the counter, eyes flicking between Aiden and the absolute mess he had created. "So, let me get this straight," she said, smirking. "The man who can destroy entire companies with a single phone call is currently failing at making breakfast?"

Aiden shot her a deadly glare. "Do you want to eat or not?"

Ava grinned. "I mean, if the goal is not to get food poisoning, then… maybe not."

Ethan, Aiden’s right-hand man, chuckled from the corner. "She has a point."

Alina bit her lip, holding back laughter as Aiden muttered curses under his breath.

But just as things started to feel normal again—

The penthouse intercom buzzed.

Aiden stiffened instantly.

The tension in the room shifted. Alina felt it too. Her stomach twisted as she watched Aiden step towards the security screen.

One glance, and his entire face darkened.

Ava frowned. "Uh… why do you look like you’re about to kill someone?"

Aiden didn’t answer. Instead, he pressed a button.

The screen displayed a man standing at the front entrance.

A man Alina never wanted to see again.

Kai.

Her breath hitched.

He was here.

At Aiden’s penthouse.

Ava sucked in a breath. "Oh, hell no."

Ethan tensed, his body shifting into full-bodyguard mode.

Alina felt a chill creep down her spine. Kai stood there, looking completely at ease, a confident smirk playing on his lips. Like he knew exactly what he was doing.

Aiden’s jaw clenched so tightly she thought he might break his teeth.

Then, without another word—he turned and walked towards the door.

"Aiden—wait!" Alina called out, but he was already gone.

She rushed after him, Ava and Ethan right behind her.

By the time they reached the entrance, Aiden had already thrown the doors open.

Kai stood there, hands casually tucked into his pockets, his dark eyes twinkling with amusement. "Missed me, sweetheart?"

Alina’s stomach twisted.

Aiden didn’t hesitate. He grabbed Kai by the collar and slammed him against the wall.

Ava let out a low whistle. "Ooooh. That’s hot."

Ethan sighed. "Not the time, Ava."

Alina, however, was frozen.

Kai didn’t even flinch. If anything, his smirk widened. "Easy there, Knight. No need to get so violent."

Aiden’s grip tightened. "You think I won’t put a bullet in your skull right now?"

Kai chuckled. "In front of your innocent little Alina?" His eyes flickered to her. "She’d be so disappointed in you."

Aiden’s knuckles went white.

Alina finally found her voice. "Kai, what do you want?"

Kai tilted his head, eyes twinkling. "Oh, sweetheart. You already know the answer to that."

Aiden’s patience snapped. He punched Kai—hard.

Kai stumbled back, wiping the blood from his lip, then let out a slow, dark laugh. "Tsk, tsk. So predictable."

Aiden lunged again, but this time, Kai pulled something out of his pocket.

A USB drive.

Aiden froze.

Kai smirked. "You might want to see what’s on this before you try to kill me."

Alina’s heart pounded. What the hell was on that USB?

Aiden’s eyes flickered to her, then back to Kai. He exhaled sharply, snatching the drive from Kai’s hand.

Kai adjusted his collar, still grinning. "Play it, Knight. Then we’ll talk."

And just like that, he turned and walked away, disappearing down the hall like he hadn’t just dropped a bomb on their night.

Aiden cursed under his breath before storming back inside, Alina and the others right behind him.

Within seconds, he plugged the USB into his laptop.

A video popped up.

Alina leaned closer, her stomach twisting with anxiety.

The footage began playing.

And what she saw made her blood run cold.

It was her.

Sleeping.

The video was taken from inside Aiden’s penthouse—inside her bedroom.

Someone had filmed her while she slept.

Alina’s body locked up. Her breathing turned shallow.

Aiden’s entire body vibrated with rage. "That son of a—"

Alina’s hands trembled. "H-How? How did he—"

Ava’s face had lost all its color. "Alina… that means…"

Ethan finished the sentence. "Kai had access to this place all along."

Aiden slammed his fist into the table, breaking it in half.

Alina flinched, but it wasn’t from fear. It was from the sheer intensity radiating off Aiden.

His blue eyes burned as he turned to her. "I’m never letting him get near you again."

Alina swallowed. Her heart was pounding too fast.

But before she could respond, Aiden did something unexpected.

He cupped her face.

It was so sudden, so intimate, that she forgot how to breathe.

His fingers brushed over her cheek, his thumb tracing her jawline. "I swear to you, Alina. I’ll make him pay for this."

Her heart skipped a beat.

And then—

Ava loudly cleared her throat. "Sooo. Are you guys about to kiss, or…?"

Aiden immediately dropped his hands, looking irritated.

Alina’s face burned. "Ava!"

Ava shrugged. "What? I’m just saying. The tension was thick."

Ethan sighed. "You really have no filter, do you?"

Ava grinned. "Nope!"

Aiden ignored them, his mind clearly on one thing only.

Kai had crossed a line.

And Aiden Knight?

He was about to burn the whole city down.
