really cursed
Days blurred into weeks, a routine settling over the Kim estate, suffocating and unchanging. Jungkook moved silently through the vast halls, head bowed and hands never still. If he wasn’t scrubbing floors until his fingers ached, he was hauling laundry or tending to the garden with quiet diligence. The cameras captured it all—every soft murmur, every flinch, every obedient bow of his head.
Taehyung kept tabs on him through the monitors, eyes narrowed and fingers drumming restlessly against his desk. It was almost disappointing how obedient Jungkook was—never stepping out of line, never talking back, never even glancing at the gates as if considering an escape.
Kim Taehyung
"Nothing suspicious at all?" Taehyung asked one evening, eyes fixed on the flickering screen showing Jungkook on his knees in the garden, brushing dirt from his palms with a faint smile.
Butler Choi
Butler Choi bowed his head. "No, sir," he replied. "He’s… surprisingly compliant."
Kim Taehyung
Taehyung scoffed, lips twisting. " We'll see how long that lasts."
At first taehyung did care a little. But now-
Jeon Jeongguk/Blessed twin
"Hyung!!"
Jeongguk rushed in and hugged taehyung intimately. Not even giving face to middle aged butler Choi in the same vicinity as them.
Kim Taehyung
Taehyung’s irritation melted instantly, replaced by fondness as he wrapped an arm around Jeongguk’s waist, chuckling.
"what are you doing here ggukie"
Jeon Jeongguk/Blessed twin
"I just missed you so much"
Jeongguk hummed, fingers twisting into Taehyung’s shirt, lips brushing his jaw.
Butler Choi
Choi’s fingers tightened behind his back. It was hard not to look, not to let his eyes drift to the way Taehyung’s hands rested at Jeongguk’s waist—steady, reassuring. A hollow ache twisted deep, heavy with the memory of another boy, skinnier and paler, carrying burdens twice his size without a word of complaint.
Butler Choi
Witnessing this butler Choi felt sorry for the boy- Jungkook.
even if none could see through he could. He realised how he had wrongly judged the boy before.
Butler Choi
'This..what wrong had that lad done to be punished like this.'
But taehyung and jeongguk least focused on this.
They were so immersed in themselves. Taehyung too had started taking a liking to gguk.
They had similar interests and had lot to discuss. This was inevitable. Though somewhere taehyung felt guilty but he reminded himself that it's a contract marriage.
'It’s a deal, not destiny. Don’t get attached to something designed to end.'
'You don't owe loyalty to a contract—just fulfill your part and remember it was never meant to be real.'
But does jungkook even know it's a contract marriage? he had naively put trust in taehyung and it was purely a court marriage from his side. A real marriage.
Butler Choi
'he really is cursed'
Without further delay Butler choi too took his leave. The door closing shut behind him. But before he left he faintly heard jeongguk's voice.
Jeon Jeongguk/Blessed twin
“Keep watching. Even obedient dogs have a bite.”
Jeon Jeongguk/Blessed twin
Jeongguk snuggled in taehyung's embrace.
Jeon Jeongguk/Blessed twin
"Taehyung when do you plan to get rid of that leech?"
Kim Taehyung
"Don't worry ggukie..As soon As the contract ends I will leave him."
Jeon Jeongguk/Blessed twin
* giggles * "you're not allowed to fall into his trap okay!"
Kim Taehyung
Taehyung just tightened his hold around gguk. "As you say ggukie."
Just after a few days of Taehyung's marriage with Jungkook. He and jeongguk started getting closer.
Taehyung wasn't replused to it because he didn't like Jungkook in that way. And also believed that what Jungkook displayed was all a farce.
Turning a corner, Choi nearly collided with him—the boy was half-hidden in the dim light of the corridor, a heavy basket of laundry balanced on his hip. The too-big sleeves of his uniform were rolled back, exposing wrists that seemed too delicate for the burden they carried.
Jeon Jungkook/Cursed twin
Jungkook’s eyes widened, startled, but he quickly ducked his head in a low bow, dark hair spilling forward. “I’m sorry,” he mumbled, voice soft, almost soundless.
Butler Choi
Choi opened his mouth, but the words lodged tight, guilt strangling them into silence. He couldn’t move, couldn’t speak—just stared at the curve of Jungkook’s shoulders, the fine tremble in his fingers.
Butler Choi
Choi hesitated, gaze flickering to the boy's tired form. The guilt twisted deeper, sharp and insistent. It wasn't the first time he'd caught the faint tremble in Jungkook's hands, the way his shoulders curled inward, small and uncertain. And it wasn’t the first time Choi found himself questioning orders, guilt coiling tight and unrelenting.
Jeon Jungkook/Cursed twin
But then Jungkook glanced up, lashes lifting just enough for Choi to catch the faintest glimmer of relief.
Jeon Jungkook/Cursed twin
A soft smile pulled at the corners of his mouth, hesitant but real, and the boy whispered, “Thank you.” and bowed respectfully.
For a moment, Choi’s breath caught.
Butler Choi
'Thank you. As if he’d done anything to deserve it. As if the guilt tightening in his chest was kindness and not the bitter aftertaste of betrayal.'
Before he could force a word free, Jungkook bowed again, shifting the basket higher on his hip. He turned, steps light and careful, the too-long hem of his sleeves brushing the floor as he moved. Choi’s hands clenched at his sides, nails biting into palms, shame and helplessness tangling tight.
Butler Choi
How long can this go on before something breaks?
Butler Choi
Choi's jaw tightened, eyes falling shut for a moment too long. He could only hope—pray, even—that his young master wouldn’t come to regret this. That the resentment brewing in silence wouldn’t one day spill over, staining everything beyond repair.
Because the way Jungkook smiled, small and grateful even now, felt like a warning.
