One Way Ticket to the Past
Time...
offering a small curtsy, her voice light with practiced politeness.
Yet even as she spoke, her gaze wandered, drawn to the many relics of time that lined the wooden shelves. Trinkets, books bound in cracking leather, peculiar contraptions with gears and levers—each object whispered of a forgotten tale.
And then she saw it.
Perched atop a stack of worn travel cases sat a dusty, old aviator’s cap, its leather faded with age. The attached goggles, their once-polished lenses now dulled, still held a ghost of adventure within them.
Her fingers twitched with the urge to reach for it.
The old man’s sharp eyes followed her gaze, a knowing glint flickering within them.

“Ah,” he mused, stroking his grizzled chin. “Seems ye’ve taken a liking to that aviator’s cap.”
Eliana nodded, stepping closer, her fingers itching to touch the worn leather.

old man
“That’ll be fifty shackles of coin,” *his voice calm but watchful.*
Without hesitation, she reached into her bag, drawing forth the pouch of coins. Untying the string, she counted out the amount, placing fifty gleaming shackles upon the counter. The weight of the metal clinked softly, an exchange sealed without words.
The old man gave a slow nod of approval before handing her the aviator’s cap. She took it with eager hands, brushing the dust from its surface before fitting it snugly upon her head.
