Rainy Day

-Sunday 14, 1948 -

The falling raindrop pitter-pattering on the rooftop and hitting on the windows glass surface. The raindrops making a various droplet that trails along a large glass window near Calista bedroom. The cloudy sky that formed together causing a sunny morning to fade.

Calista staring to her reflection on the glass window. The reflection become more clear after the dark clouds in the sky grow thick and darken.

"Will the rain stop sooner?" she mumbling to herself.

Her beautiful large brown iris eyes glint while her pale blonde hair that neatly comb shining under the flash of lightning. She laid her chin on her clasp hand on the edge of the windows sill. She sighed repeatedly to the unpredictable weather.

Originally, she has a plan today and she get ready to go out when she heard a rumbling sound outside and soon after the rain pour in no time. She can't walk out with this weather. She really love raining day but today she want to go to the lake near the manor and spent her evening painting scenery.

"Calista.. why are you standing near the window.. its thundering outside.. you may got struck by lightning. " Calista turn her head and saw her nanny at the door bringing a hot cup.

"Here, have a cup of tea to replenish your body." She gestured a cup that she bring to her and walk inside the room. She placed the cup on a coffee table and walk to the window. She then close the curtain gently and grab Calista arm to lead her sit on the chair beside the coffee table.

"Your father will come back this afternoon.. he call this morning to tell you this, so you can prepared yourself. He want to bring you to find a present for your mother and you may have a dinner with them tonight."

Calista remain quiet to the news. There are no expression on her face. Not because she hate to spent her time with her parents nor did she hate to see them.. but she feel it was useless. Her parents are divorced two years ago. She never questioned it but she know they still love each other. Her father wants to back with her mother but her mother always say that she's comfortable with their situation right now.

"I think I'm not feeling well today.. let me just stay at home.." She say half pleading. "What happen.. did you got cold? let me check your temperature"

"I am fine Alyse.. thank you, I just need a rest.. could you please tell my father.. I don't want to go anywhere." She stand up and sit on her bed. "Oh dear.. what should I do.. your father will disappointed if he know this.. did you still mad at him?" The nanny now sit beside her and pat her head.

"No, not because of that and I don't want to think about that anymore.. I just need my time alone." She look into Alyse eyes in hope that the nanny will believe her and fine with it.

The answer made Alyse sigh but after thinking for sometime she then agreed. "Alright.. have your rest. I will tell your father.." she said and pause ".. Actually, I think they really need a time alone and talk about their stuff.. right?" Alyse wink and give her a pure smile. She remind her to drink her tea before she leave the room.

After the door closed, Calista walk to the coffee table and reach her tea to take a sip. She want to sit down when she caught a glimpse of something flashed at a wall beside her bed.. she abruptly turn her head and chocked to the sight. It was an old mirror that she have never seen before. A beautiful yet antic design with some weird pattern that carving along side the frame.

'Did Alyse put it there? but when she put it? I didn't see it when she came to bring me a tea..' she was curious to the thought.. she gulp and put her tea gently then walk towards the mirror.  She stop right in front of it. The mirror placed on the floor and backed against the wall.

She look into the mirror warily and saw her reflection. She frown at the image she saw and realize that there's something weird about it.. "what it is..??" she mumbling to herself.
