Evelyn: "Well, lucky for you, I specialize in dismantling reputations. But this will cost you."
Dr. Harris: (leaning forward) "Money’s not an issue. I want them out—both of them."
Evelyn nods, her lips curling into a calculating smile. The two shake hands, sealing their sinister alliance.
The next day, Trisha is working on a critical surgery prep when she’s summoned to the hospital boardroom. When she enters, she finds Matthias, the hospital board, and a smug Dr. Harris waiting. On the table are files stamped with the word “Investigation.”
Board Member 1: "Dr. Trisha, serious allegations have been made against you regarding malpractice and breach of protocol in two recent cases."
Trisha: (stunned) "What? That’s absurd. Which cases?"

Dr. Harris: "The Roberts and Singh cases. Both patients experienced post-operative complications under your care. And your decision to bypass standard procedure is now under scrutiny."
Trisha: (furious) "This is ridiculous! Those patients were in critical condition. I made judgment calls that saved their lives!"
Matthias: (calm but firm) "Where’s the proof of negligence, Harris? From what I’ve seen, Dr. Trisha’s decisions were warranted."
Dr. Harris: (shrugging) "The proof is in the numbers, Mr. Williams. Complication rates are rising, and someone has to answer for it."
Board Member 2: "Dr. Trisha, until the investigation concludes, you’re temporarily suspended."
The words hit Trisha like a punch. She looks at Matthias, who stands immediately.
Matthias: "This is a farce. She’s one of the best surgeons here."
Dr. Harris: (smiling) "That’s your opinion. But the hospital’s reputation is at stake."
Trisha storms out, her anger and frustration barely contained. Matthias follows her.
In the hospital garden, Trisha sits on a bench, her head in her hands. Matthias approaches and sits beside her, leaving a small space between them.

Trisha: (her voice breaking) "I’ve been fighting my whole life, Matthias. Against my father’s abandonment, my mother’s pain, this hospital’s politics… I’m just tired."
Matthias moves closer, his tone softer now.
Matthias: "Then let me fight with you. You don’t have to do this alone, Trisha."
Trisha: (looking at him, her walls finally cracking) "Why do you care so much? Why me?"
Matthias: (holding her gaze) "Because I see you. The real you. And you’re worth every fight."
For a moment, they sit in silence. Trisha leans back, letting herself breathe.
Matthias and his assistant, Carter, are in his office late at night. Carter is a tech-savvy investigator who’s been helping Matthias uncover Harris’s motives.
Carter: "So far, I’ve found discrepancies in Harris’s records. He’s manipulated patient data before to cover his own errors."
Matthias: "What about these allegations against Trisha?"
Carter: "Fabricated. The Singh case file was altered last week—right before Harris submitted the complaint."
Matthias: (leaning forward) "Can we prove it?"
Carter: (grinning) "Give me a few hours. Harris isn’t as clever as he thinks."
Matthias nods, his determination unwavering.
The next morning, Matthias confronts Dr. Harris in his office. Carter stands behind him, holding a stack of documents.
Matthias: "We need to talk, Harris."
Dr. Harris: (mocking) "If this is about Dr. Trisha, save your breath. The investigation—"
Matthias: (interrupting) "Is over. We found the altered files. You’ve been falsifying records to cover your own mistakes and framing others to keep the spotlight off you."
Dr. Harris’s smug expression falters, but he quickly recovers.
Dr. Harris: "You have no proof."
Carter: (grinning) "Actually, we do. Digital footprints don’t lie, Doc."
Matthias steps closer, his tone cold.
Matthias: "Here’s what’s going to happen. You’re going to resign quietly, or I’ll make sure every board member knows exactly what you’ve done. Your choice."
Dr. Harris glares but knows he’s cornered. He slams a resignation letter onto his desk.
Trisha is reinstated, and the board publicly clears her name. Later, she finds Matthias in the hospital lobby.
Trisha: (crossing her arms) "So… you saved my career."
Matthias: (smiling) "I told you—I’m here for you."
Trisha: (softly) "I don’t know how to thank you."
Matthias: (grinning) "You could start by letting me buy you dinner. No hospital talk—just two people getting to know each other."
Trisha hesitates but then nods, a small smile breaking through.
Trisha: "Fine. But don’t expect me to be impressed."
Matthias: (laughing) "Challenge accepted."
As they walk out together, the camera lingers on Dr. Harris’s empty office, hinting that his story isn’t over yet.
