Chapter 5: His painting

“What did you say?” he said.

“Angelo, when you were 5 years old, were you arranged for a blind date?” I instantly replied.

“I don’t know. My father holds everything I do.” He said, startled.

“Oh, okay.” My tone saddened. “What were you thinking, Rose!? Get a hold of yourself. There’s a LOT more boys with “Angel” in their names. Anyways, you just met him! There’s NO WAY. NO WAY.” I thought, kind of regretting what I said just now and panicking inside.

I laid down his bed since we were done. “Your bed is SOOO soft!” I sighed.

“You’re going to stay here longer?”

“You don’t want me to?” I answered.

With a flustered face, Angelo blushed and said, “Fine, get outta my bed.”

“I don’t wanna!” I said, annoying him.

He crawled in his bed, on top of me and said for the last time, with a serious face, “Get outta my bed.”

I enlarged my eyes, and said, blushing, “How am I gonna get out if you’re on top of me?”, while looking aside.

“Good point.” He admitted.

We got out of his bed and I started a conversation with him even though it’s already 7, as we got closer.

“So, you paint?”

“Yeah, it’s my hobby.”

“Ooh, show me some of your paintings!”

He stood up with his hand brushing his hair and he entered a small room inside his closet. Inside, there were dozens of paintings with pastel paint all over thetiny room’s floor. And one painting was kind of beautifully unusual.

“Is that your girlfriend on that painting?” I asked out of curiosity.

He was silent then banged the door of his closet close. Out of anger, he didn’t show me the paintings. Even if I was too curious, I think I shouldn’t have asked about him showing me his paintings in the first place.

“Please go home and leave me alone” he said to break the silence

“Oh, okay. See you at school tomorrow.” I said, leaving him in his room.

“After I left I think I heard sniffing. Did he cry? But the girl on his painting was beautiful! How can he not proud of that? Is he hiding something from me? ANYWAYS, the performance is in 5 days! Now, I really have to focus on ballet.” But I can’t seem to get him out of my mind. I have too much on my head right now. “Am I sick?” I thought again.

Walking towards Angelo’s gate, my butler said, “Did you have a great time, miss?”. But it seems that I ignored him because Angelo replaced my consciousness.

When I got home I checked my phone and my contacts was packed with missed calls from

Jake. ”So this is my daily routine now?” I thought. I also found a beautiful white tutu hanging out of my closet and some elegant white pointes in my bed along with some accessories. “I think I should have gone with mom. These are too much” my brain said. I was too lazy to call Jake si I only texted him saying that I’m sorry for not picking up calls and that I’m busy these days.

“He’s understanding, anyways.” I thought so that I can’t worry. I practiced the positions in my room along with a cambre back (Search it up). Then, I watched some ballet tips to help me rehearse for “Swan Lake”. Then suddenly, my mom got

in my room.

“Rose, why are you late?”---TO BE CONTINUED
