Lin Yi’s mother carefully refined the medicine in silence, her delicate hands moving deftly over the tools. After finishing, she handed the completed product to Lin Yi.

“Drink this tonight. then the rest depends on you if you will still. be able to cultivate” her mother said softly, her voice filled with concern it was a life and death matter.

Lin Yi nodded and took the medicine with both hands. “Thank you, Mother.” Without waiting for a reply, she turned and left the courtyard.

As she walked back to her own quarters, she couldn’t shake the strange feeling from earlier. Who were those assassins they didn't seem to be one of Lin Si people, and Why did Young Master Shen helpp her? A favor from the Lin family was worth it since their lin family was above their shen family maybe if they joined hand then the yi family won't pose a therat to them, or did he have some other motive maybe to turn lin si against me since we might also need their help?

Her thoughts were interrupted by a servant’s hurried footsteps. The young boy stopped before her, bowing deeply. “Miss Lin, the patriarch has summoned you to the main hall.”

Lin Yi raised an eyebrow but said nothing. She adjusted her robes and followed the servant to the grand hall. As she stepped inside, she saw the gathered family members, their expressions a mix of curiosity, disdain, and impatience.

At the head of the room, Lin Si sat with a faint smile, her appearance immaculate as always. Beside her was the patriarch, his face unreadable.

“Lin Yi,” the patriarch began, his deep voice cutting through the tension in the room, “I heard there was an incident earlier today. Care to explain?”

Lin Yi’s gaze swept over the room, lingering briefly on Lin Si, Who avoided her eyes. “It’s true. AssasSins were sent to attack me, and the local shops refused to sell me the medicine I needed. If not for Young Master Shen’s intervention, I might not have made it back alive.”

A murmur spread through the hall. Some seemed surprised, others unimpressed.

“Isn’t it shameful that you had to rely on an outsider?” Lin Si interjected, her voice laced with mockery. “Perhaps if you weren’t so useless, none of this would have happened.”

Lin Yi’s lips curled into a faint smile. “Shameful, you say? I suppose it is—shameful that someone in our family would stoop so low as to bribe shopkeepers and hire assassins to harm their own kin.”

The room fell silent, the accusation hanging heavily in the air. Lin Si’s face paled for a brief moment before she recovered, laughing lightly. “What nonsense are you spouting? Who would believe such baseless claims?”

“I don’t need anyone to believe me,” Lin Yi replied calmly. “Truth has a way of reveaLing itself in time.”

The patriarch narrowed his eyes, his gaze shifting between the two girls. “Enough. Lin Yi, return to your quarters. Lin Si, stay behind. I need a word with you.”

Lin Yi bowed slightly and left without another word. As she walked away, she could feel Lin Si’s glare burning into her back.

Back in her quarters, Lin Yi sat at her desk, deep in thought. The attack today had shown her that she was not only being targeted by Lin Si those people didn't seem to be from these continent, If she wanted to survive she needed to grow stronger—both in body spiritual power and in influence.

Taking out the refined medicine, she drank it in one swift motion. A warm sensation spread through her body as the medicine began to take effect, soothing her injured spirit it was a life and death situation but she managed to overcome it and finally she can cultivate again.

That night, as the moon hung high in the sky, Lin Yi began to train in secret. She wouldn’t let herself be a pawn in someone else’s because she knew she had reincarnated sure. she didn't know her identity for now but she was sure she is not someone with small importance now that she was being targeted by assasins that is not from thier continent. If the Lin family wanted to discard her, she would show them the price of their underestimation.
