THE WHISPER OF BETRAYAL

He was confirming all of Ethan's suspicions; somehow, it was the final blow to their barely alive relationship. The secret they so carefully kept on their own was now turning out to be a crushing weight upon them. Ethan's paranoia had taken over, and he saw enemies everywhere in his life. His trust in people around him was shattered like a an piece of cake mix an emotion.

He questioned his staff, his friends, even his family, for the source of the breach. The office, once a paragon of control and authority, has become a prison; every nook contains a hidden enemy, waiting to pounce.

To begin with, actually, Kai was aware that Ethan was starting to get desperate and so calmed him down and made him comfortable. He reminded him of their love and the strength of their bond; however, his words seemed to fall flat on Ethan's ears. Ethan is no longer the man whom Kai fell in love with, and he finds himself caught in a whirlwind of suspicion and fear.

One evening, having worked late, Ethan stormed into Kai's small apartment. He had been following a lead, a whisper of a rumor, a fleeting glimpse of a shadow which led him to Kai's doorstep.

"I know," Ethan said, his voice wracked by a mixture of anger and desperation. "I know who it is."

Kai shivered. He had never known Ethan to burst in like that, nor had he ever seen such intensity in the eyes. "Who?" he asked in barely above a whisper.

Ethan's eyes brimmed with a mixture of betrayal and hurt. He had just pointed a finger at Kai. "You," he said low and accusatory. "You're the one who's been telling everyone."

Blimey, the sinking feeling that began forming in his stomach as he looked at Ethan and heard his broken voice now. It was disbelief that washed over him like a wave. "Ethan," he said, straining through a hoarse throat. "You're mistaken. I would never betray you."

Ethan, in his paranoid state, did not even listen to Kai's pleas. All he could see was the betrayal-only an attempt to bring him down and destroy him. He stormed out of Kai's apartment, leaving behind trails of broken promises and destroyed trust and issues of being a person that they are.

Left there in the utter silence of his apartment, a wave of despair engulfed him. He had lost Ethan - the man he loved, the man he gave his heart to. He had been accused of one thing that will never be: betrayal.

Their love, their trust, had been shattered by that cruel twist of fate and huge difference of feeling, some whispered betrayal that poisoned their relationship and also the trust of one another. He had been left alone, heartbroken, lost in wondering and think him that he is lostful thing if he ever could mend the pieces of their shattered love.
