Unwanted Guest
Ye Jin opened the door and froze. Standing before her were the two people she had never expected to see—her father and stepmother. The shock was evident, but she quickly forced a smile.
Kim Ye-jin (Fl elder sister)
Dad… Step-mom..
Ye Jin forced a smile, struggling to keep her composure.
Before she could react, they barged into the apartment uninvited.
Kim Ye-jin (Fl elder sister)
You came at the perfect time, Dad. We were just about to have dinner...
Ye Jin said, trying to mask her disdain.
Despite her forced politeness, her mind raced. She had made a promise to her dying mother to take care of him, even though her heart screamed otherwise.
Tae-hee and Min Young stood behind her, their expressions darkened with rage. Neither was remotely happy to see them.
Min Young, with a cold edge, snapped,
Park min young (Fl younger sister)
According to me, we didn’t invite anyone for dinner, so why are they here?"
Kim Ye-jin (Fl elder sister)
Min..
Ye Jin warned, her voice tense as she shot her sister a stern glare.
Park min young (Fl younger sister)
Whatever
Min Young muttered, rolling her eyes.
Tae-hee joined in, her voice dripping with sarcasm.
Kim Tae- hee (FL)
I only made dinner for three. Tell them to come back next time... or never.
Before Ye Jin could respond, their stepmother chimed in with an annoyed tone.
Kim shin- hye (Step mom Fl)
This is how you treat your guests? Is this what your so-called mother taught you?
The emphasis on "mother" was deliberate, a low blow meant to sting. Min Young’s temper flared, and she was ready to rip into her, but a quick look from Ye Jin held her back.
The word mother stung like a dagger. Ye Jin bit her tongue, her fists clenching under the table. She could see Tae hee lips twitch, ready to lash out.
The tension was thick as they all sat at the dining table. No one touched their food except the father and stepmother, who ate greedily.
Min Young scoffed, her voice cutting the air.
Park min young (Fl younger sister)
They must not have eaten in weeks, the way they’re going at it. Like pigs.
Tae-hee snickered and added,
Kim Tae- hee (FL)
No invitation, barging into someone home, eating like a pig—manners straight from your mom, right?
She glanced pointedly at their stepmother.
Their father slammed his hand on the table, growling,
Kim lee jun (Fl Dad)
“How dare you—”
But Ye Jin, ever the mediator, quickly interrupted.
Kim Ye-jin (Fl elder sister)
Dad, I’m sorry for their behavior. Please, eat and calm down.”
Her voice was calm, but her eyes burned with warning, directed at Tae-hee and Min Young, who just scoffed and exchanged glances.
Trying to steer the conversation, Ye Jin asked,
Kim Ye-jin (Fl elder sister)
So, Dad, what brings you here after all this time?”
Her father chuckled, but it was hollow.
Kim lee jun (Fl Dad)
I just... missed my daughters.
Min Young rolled her eyes so hard they nearly got stuck.
Park min young (Fl younger sister)
Oh, please. After two years, you suddenly remember you have three daughters? The ones you abandoned the day after Mom died to marry that...
She glanced at their stepmother.
Park min young (Fl younger sister)
Slut.
Before their father could explode, Ye Jin, sensing the storm coming, pretended to be angry and shouted,
Kim Ye-jin (Fl elder sister)
“Min, that’s enough!”
Hoping to diffuse the situation before it escalated.
And somehow she was successful
After dinner, their father and stepmother lounged on the couch like they owned the place, while the sisters sat across from them, staring daggers.
Ye Jin’s voice turned icy.
Kim Ye-jin (Fl elder sister)
Let’s cut the act, Dad. You didn’t come here just to ‘miss’ us. What do you really want?
Kim lee jun (Fl Dad)
(He chuckled nervously.) “Well, I’ve realized you girls are all grown up now. I think it’s time I arrange marriages for each of you.”
And that was it. The sisters snapped. Tae-hee slammed her hand on the table so hard it rattled. Her voice dropped dangerously low, her aura dark.
Kim Tae- hee (FL)
Dare to say one more word, and I’ll make sure you’re unable to speak for the rest of your life.
Their father gulped, visibly nervous.
Kim lee jun (Fl Dad)
Th-this is how you speak to your father?
Ye Jin stood up, her voice cold, cutting through the room like a blade.
Kim Ye-jin (Fl elder sister)
Enough. It’s getting late. You should leave.
Their stepmother opened her mouth to speak, but Min Young, her eyes blazing, spat,
Park min young (Fl younger sister)
“Bitch, if you utter another word, I’ll show you exactly what my mother taught me—
Kim Tae- hee (FL)
How to sew a mouth shut with a needle and thread.
Park min young (Fl younger sister)
Now get out before I do something you’ll regret.”
The stepmother’s mouth snapped shut as she glared, but the venom in Min Young’s stare left no room for argument.
Without another word, the father and stepmother stood and slinked out of the apartment, their dignity shattered as the door slammed behind them. The sisters exchanged looks, a mixture of relief and rage swirling in the room.

We’re never doing that again,
Tae-hee muttered, to which Min Young added with a smirk,
