“You're finally here.”
Though there was a hint of annoyance in his tone – probably because of how much time Lyle took, Atlas still looked unbelievably handsome. His mouth watering body left Lyle speechless.
After a moment of awkward silence, Lyle finally spoke up. “The schedule…”
“Yes, the schedule. It's been sitting over there on the desk because you were taking too long to get here.” Atlas's eyes crinkled as his lips were pulled up into a smile, showing his amusement.
“I'll get it and then..restaurant.” The volume of Lyle's voice became lower as he started whispering.
Atlas heard it, but he wanted Lyle to say it again because of his amusing actions.
“I didn't quite catch that. Mind saying it again?” he asked.
Though he was clearly flustered, Lyle still managed to explain himself.
“Restaurant. Mr. Jarvis said we should go to a restaurant to get to know each other. A-as a normal boss and secretary thing of course!”
Atlas understood what Jarvis was planning, and a smirk appeared on his face, making Lyle feel very confused.
“What's wrong?”
Atlas shook his head and answered, “Nothing, I'm just thinking that maybe I should give Jarvis a bonus for his retirement… since he's so good at reading the room.”
That answer made Lyle feel even more confused, but he decided to just brush it off. Atlas approached Lyle, getting closer to him than they already are.
“Anyway, let's go to the restaurant after I finish going through a few more papers. Because we have a lot of things to talk about.”
Lyle gulped a bit loudly, he obviously realized that he couldn't run away from the confrontation about what they both did together on that night. He looked down and just nodded as Lyle turned his back on him and started walking to his desk to finish up the last few files that he needs to check on.
While Atlas sat on his seat, Lyle was on the sofa in the middle of the room. The two of them were staring at files. Lyle was looking at the weekly schedule of Atlas and him, while Atlas was reading through suggestions on what to do for the product that he is developing.
The room was silent, but though they didn't say anything about it, they both felt calm and comfortable. The atmosphere was not tense like their first meeting in the office. They are actually feeling a sense of peace. It was something that could not be explained properly, but their presence comforted each other even when they didn't intend it to.
More than half an hour passed when Atlas finished reading through the files. He put the papers back on the table and looked up to see Lyle, who was sleeping on the sofa. He raised his eyebrow as he approached his sleeping secretary. Atlas knelt down and caressed Lyle's face. He realized what he was doing and took his hand back.
He paused for a moment before asking Lyle who was snoring quietly. “Why do I do the most out of character things whenever I'm with you?” Atlas asked, not expecting a reply. He stood back up and covered Lyle with his coat before also sitting on the sofa.
Atlas didn't know that Lyle, who was “sleeping” quietly, had already woken up the moment he started caressing his face. Lyle’s thoughts were at chaos because of Atlas's actions. “What kind of question was that?!” He thought to himself.
Lyle decided to continue pretending to sleep and before soon, the two of them were actually sleeping soundly on the sofa, as if they had just experienced the most exhausting day of their lives.
