chapter 4

“Hey what’s wrong with you, it’s such a beautiful morning, you should be admiring flowers.” Josh said as they were walking down the hallway. “Would you shut up, there’s nothing beautiful about this morning. We having gym and there’s nothing beautiful about seeing *****, sweaty bodies of other dudes in the showers or the fact that we have to be all active.”

“I don’t see why you’re complaining, you’re so good at sports but never participate in them, plus who wouldn’t want to see hot girls all sweaty.” Alex just smacked the back of Josh’s head snapping him out of his fantasies.

“Well there’s nothing I can do for ya, you’ll just have to suck it up. Anyways I’ve gotta go to class, see you at lunch. “Josh said right before he entered his classroom.

The bell rang and that only meant one thing for Alex; the start of the worst subject ever.

Alex entered the changing room and made sure that no one was there, he intentionally went there late so he could avoid changing in front of the other guys. He quickly got changed and ran out onto the field where the coach stood there, FURIOUS.

“Meyers! I thought since it was a new semester this habit of yours would stop but I hoped to high with you. Ten laps, now!”

Alex was used to this treatment and honestly he didn’t care. Ten laps was nothing to him. Plus he could always avoid the lecture on how all of them were weak.

Alex quickly did the ten laps and met with the rest of the group. Everyone else we’re in pairs except for Xavier.

“Of course pair me up with the fittest looking guy in class; I see what you did there coach. “Alex said to himself.

He went and stood next to his new partner, now that he was actually standing next to Xavier he realized how tall and muscular he was.

“The person you are standing next to will be your partners for the rest of the semester, so you better get friendly with them.” The couch pointed out. 

Alex cursed under his breath as he looked at the muscular giant standing next to him. This is gonna be a really fun semester.

“Now let’s warm up everyone, we’re running laps around the field.” The coach instructed. Alex was already feeling a bit tired, the last thing he wanted was to run laps with this guy that looked like he could run a marathon and still have some energy left.

They all began their laps and everyone was running in their pairs like the coach instructed. Alex was too tired to give it his all so he just started to do a fast paced jog and surprisingly his partner slowed down.

Alex wasn’t sure if he was being considerate or was just an idiot but he took advantage of this and slowed down the pace till he was just jogging.

But his partner wasn't to pleased with this. He only glared at Alex before gradually increasing the pace.

“Well I guess he isn’t an idiot then.” Alex thought. He quickly caught up with Xavier and now they were running the same pace. They we’re still running the slowest on the field so Alex felt somewhat touched.

They eventually finished their laps and next was a game of soccer. Alex was lazy so he just sat with the rest of the lazy bums but the coach wasn’t pleased with this so he forced Alex to play as well.

At this point Alex despised the coach for sending him to play in the summer heat.

Alex casually walked onto the field where the teams were being picked out. When Alex stopped both team captains went mad over who gets to pick the star player, but was quickly brushed off when they spotted Xavier walking into the field.

Alex felt offended that now that new kid was getting all the attention, but what bummed him out even more was the fact that they would be playing in different teams.

After minutes of bickering the game finally commenced and Alex was determined to beat the other team and show them his worth.

Minutes into the game and Alex had already scored the first goal but was closely followed by Xavier who scored the next.

The game was very heated, it was already half time and everyone was taking a short break.

The score was tied and Alex was only hyped up even more, he was determined to win the game and show that he was way better than that cold hearted freak.

The game resumed and everyone was back to playing. Alex had spaced out for a second when he suddenly heard someone call out to him “Alex duck!” but before he could react he saw the ball fly to his face only to stop inches away.

He looked up to see Xavier holding the ball. Then the whistle was blown signaling the end of the lesson. Alex was just glad that it was finally over.

“Meyers, you and your partner should stay behind and pack everything.” Alex just nodded too tired to respond.

Everyone left the field and the two were left behind. Xavier started to pick all the balls whilst Alex took the cones. Alex’s eyes couldn’t help but trail back to Xavier who was drenched in sweat making his T shirt stick to his godlike body.

They quickly finished and they both hit the showers. Alex was hesitant about removing his clothes, especially since he knew Xavier’s body put his to shame. He eventually removed his clothes and went under the shower head.

Soon after, he was followed by Xavier. Alex couldn’t keep his eyes from admiring Xavier. His white locks that where drenched in water, which hung just above a pair of beautiful but dark amber gold eyes. His clear pale skin that covered his muscular body.

Alex’s heart began to do crazy backflips just from looking at him. He quickly looked away trying to calm his heart in fear that Xavier could hear his heart thump.

When he looked back he saw the two eyes that managed to spark mystery in anyone they looked at, looking at him.

“Could you pass me the soap?” As those words left Xavier’s pale plump lips Alex couldn’t help but fall under the enchantment of his deep voice.

“S-sure.” Alex said as he passed the soap; his hand now shaking.

Alex what has gotten into you, the heat must be getting to your head. Alex tried to finish so he could leave as soon as possible.

When he was finally done he tried to quickly dart out of the shower but slipped, he then fell onto something that felt rock hard but was warm? When he looked up it was Xavier, he caught him before he could have fallen.

Alex felt his face turn beet red as he felt Xavier’s rock hard muscles  against his smooth skin.

Alex felt like dying from embarrassment, but something was odd, Xavier was warm yet he couldn’t hear any heartbeat. No matter how hard he tried there was nothing.

But Alex wasn’t ready to investigate further because he quickly pushed away from the Greek god standing in front of him, got dressed and quickly left.

Alex bumped into someone while he was spacing out along the hallway. It was another muscular figure that was almost Alex’s height; he had pale skin and was quite attractive. One of the new guys. He seemed to glare at Alex in a distasteful way.

“Sorry dude.” Alex said trying to get away from the weird stranger.

“You better watch out Alex they’re coming after you.” He said before disappearing into the crowd.

Alex didn’t know what he meant and didn’t want to either.

Maybe he’s lost his marbles.

Alex sat down in his seat preparing for the next class when he remembered he’d be sitting by Xavier. He let out a large sigh before scanning the class to see who could swap seats with.

But it was too late the bell rang and everyone took their seats as the teacher entered the classroom.

The lesson began and Alex couldn’t hear a word the teacher was saying.

All he could hear was the loud thumping in his ears. Somehow he also kind of felt awkward remembering what had unfolded in the locker rooms.

The lesson was long and painful and Alex was on the verge of dying but still couldn’t help but think about how he couldn’t hear Xavier’s heartbeat. This question bothered him the rest of the lesson.

“Maybe they really aren’t human.” He thought as he turned to the mystery beside him.

If they aren’t then what are they?

*Hey guys that's the end of chapter 4. Btw the shower scene, it was just the two of them in the shower. Everyone else had left since they were the last to leave the field.
