I followed my master to the martial palace, where I there stood in confusion. All that stood in front of me was an empty room surrounded by brick walls, and a talisman on one. I looked at my master, where he then preceded to continue walking to the talisman; so I followed. He then, closed his eyes and started to use his fingers to draw the talisman symbol. Next thing I knew I was standing in a different place, on a grass field. My master said to me, “It all starts now.” I then knew what came next; I immediately kowtowed to him 3 times, and continued through. Then he touched my palm, signaling that he accepted me as his student. I then sat firmly on the ground with my feet crossed as my teacher joined me; he said to me that we would work on mental power in martial arts. He taught me how to use mental power, to summon something or someone to have a duel in their minds. We stayed in there for less than a human hour, but in the world it was like an entire day. We sat in silence as he showed me the skill of allowing my mental state to become stronger. He would later teach me how to fight in my mind, then in person, and how to use talismans on my own. I then started to question, how was my master able to know so many variations in martial skills when most people only knew one. Okay, let me simplify. In most times a teacher or even just someone that knows the skill in martial arts has one fighting type, mental strength, physical strength, or spells, which you could also consider as talisman. Like he read my mind, he stood up, lowered his head and mentioned his name, Dà Léi Sheng (大雷声) meaning Great Thunder. It then clinked as I repeatedly said, da lei sheng, da lei sheng, da lei sheng…. When I realized, my master was one of the 5 greatest, according to my previous master. His name has literally been written in thousands of scrolls, but wait didn’t it say that he died after he descended to the moral world. My master then got up, and said, “ It’s a long story, are you willing to break time to hear it?” I nodded my head, and opened my ears for the story my master was about to tell me.
It started 30 years ago, I had descended to this realm after The Great War... My brothers and I, made the great 5. We grew up with each other from since young, each raised by a different Shifu. We all learned different or semi different styles in fighting, but later we would teach each other everything we knew allowing us to master the three arts. We grew closer and closer as brothers as we grew older to our mid adult stages, when one of us went missing. We searched for years wondering what had happened because we all knew that it was a least likely chance of him being kidnapped, as we were already some of the greatest men. After 2 years passed it was like we all struck by lightning, our brother came out of hiding with an army and was determined to kill us. We never knew why, but he forced us to fight. There was hatred in his eyes, and his soul seemed dark. It was like as if there was a void of pain, and darkness amongst his heart. Except we then found out there was no heart, and that was not our brother, because our brother was long dead. I remember the eldest of us took him on to fight, when as they fought he then saw a hole through our brother's chest. It was empty, you could see right through, that was the empty void we felt. We then realized we were fighting against a demon. We fought to the end, we 4 brothers were no longer 5. After that we swore to never fight again in remembrance of our fifth brother. We never broke our brotherhood, all we did was separate. Each going to a new place, or even a new home. Where I chose to come to the mortal realm, not long after I sent my men to establish rumors that I had died of an incurable illness. Which leads me to the finding of you.
