Meeting My New Master

" 2 days until my birthday," I squealed. In two days I was gonna turn 17, the official age to get married. I would also be considered as a women, of course I was excited.

I quickly got dressed and went outside into the streets, I planned to buy myself a beautiful dress for my birthday from the money my parents gave to me as a before present. As I started to hop on my way, I accidentally bumped into a young man carrying scrolls. He quickly got up and helped me then walked away, I found his presence a bit weird. Although I never really paid it that much attention, after it happened. Except when I went home I couldn't take my mind off it, uhh well, I thought.

A days passed and I went outside again, this time I saw flyers of a girl that looked like me. It said, " Happy Birthday to the lost princess." I was about to react when, I got a nice, juicy bang on my head, causing me to blackout.

Maybe in a hour or two I woke up, to the sound of whispering. I heard someone say, " Did I hit her to hard... why won't she wake up" Honestly, I actually giggled when I heard that, but I still decided to fake sleep. Then all of a sudden someone emerged from in the shadows and said she's awake. All eyes on me, how wonderful I thought. Then somebody else said, you need to get ready in an hour to meet our master. Weird as it was, I did what I was told . Preparing myself to meet my kidnapper. I quickly finished up, when a maid came in and led me to a room. She then said, " Open the door, our master is on the other side "

I heard the door creek open, as I saw an old man probably around 80 years old enter. I quickly got up, and greeted the man. He then told me there is no need for formality. He then came and sat across me and poured out tea. We really just introduced ourselves and had a friendly conversation. I do remember him saying that he wanted a successor before he was to pass. I asked what he meant and he said that he was a master at martial arts, he told me I could go back to my family at any time. All he wanted was that I would learn from him for a year. I felt sympathy for the man, maybe that's why I agreed, but little did I know that I just found myself a very good master.

He sent me home after our chat, and apologized for the bang on my head. He also said that he hoped I have a wonderful birthday, or what was left of it at least. I was then sent home in a carriage. I informed my parents of what happened and told them not to worry. I also said that I will be gone for a year, but I will visit them at least two times. For the rest of the day my family and I went out, ate dinner at a little shop and I just enjoyed the rest of my birthday. As soon as I got home I packed my old, hay bag with all my clothes, my favourite shoes, my only hair pin and brush, and the rest of what I needed. I also brought the little jade flower my family gave me for my 17th birthday present. Even though it was small, I know that it must have cost my poor family a fortune and that is what made me treasure it even more.

In two days the same carriage came to pick me up and bring me to my new masters house. When I got there the maids brought me to the Emerald Pavilion, maybe you're thinking why I decided to live with a stranger. Honestly if you ask me I don't know either, somewhere in my mind just told me that I was making the right choice. When I went into my quarters, the maids unpack my bags and prepared purple sweet potato cakes. They then left me in the room alone to sleep for the night. Afterall my training would start tomorrow and I would need to wake up bright and early. I ate the cakes then went to bed, to wake up at 6:00 the next morning.

I woke up the next morning, and I don't know maybe you can call me crazy . I was excited, maybe cuz it gave me hope I could continue learning martial arts.

Anyway, i sent for Jenny and Tsang to ask for assistance in my new outfit because I had never worn something like it before. It was absolutely magnificent, it was tight-fit at the top but divided with a belt to make the bottom more flowy. Did I mention it was red and black; my ultimate favourite colours.

After I got dressed, the girls brought me the main hall where my master and I would eat our first meal of the day/ breakfast. Then after, I would be brought to the martial arts quarters,to start my training.
