#5 The confession

Katherine pov.

Since that day I felt that Christian was avoiding me.. but Kevin was always there for me.

Every time I tried to talk with Christian, he said he was busy and went away. So..I stopped trying. But my heart aches when he ignores me...

Well.. I'll just skip for when me and Kevin entered high school. Christian was already in his last year. My brother said he was going to do management in a business college.

I need to spent more time with him before this year ends. But since he was ignoring me..I decided to, reveal my feelings for him.

If he accepts me, we would make use of all the time we have left together, like a couple.

The day came. March's 2nd. I made some cookies and bought a picture frame. Then I chose our best photo and put it in the frame. That's it! I can do this.

I went to school and Kevin was there waiting for me. I waved happily at him and hugged him. He hugged me back.

"Hey Kat, what is this?" He asked?

"Um..well...I want to confess my feelings today.." Kevin knew about my feelings toward Christian.

"Really?! Great!" He smiled happily. "Let me see, start." I understood that he wanted to see what I was going to do. So I started talking.

"Okay..uhm..well..I really like you! It's been a long time since I like you. I think you are awesome and I wanted to express my feelings for you. And, I made this for you!" I showed my cookies and the present box, witch the portrait was inside.

Kevin faked tears and said: "Wonderful!"

I smiled. He hugged me. "He is going to love it, trust me."

Time passed fast, I was getting more and more nervous. Then it was break time.

It's time. I can do this!

Christian was standing near the lockers, surrounded by some girls.

"Uhm..Christian, can I talk to you..?" I was really nervous.

"I'm busy." It seems like he is in a bad mood.

"Please..?" I really can't hold my feelings anymore!

"Ugh... fine."

"Okay..uhm..well..I really like you! It's been a long time since I like you. I think you are awesome and I wanted to express my feelings for you. And, I made this for you!"

Everyone around was surprised, some of them started recording. I mean, even though he didn't like me, I know that he won't be rude, because we are friends.

I was totally wrong.

He kept a staring at me, he was really surprised. Then his face closed and he seemed so mad. Did I say something wrong?

"ARE YOU KIDDING ME?!" He yelled...at me!

"H-huh?!" I wasn't understanding anything.

He looked around, then looked at me.

"What were you thinking about?!" He was so mad.. "Are you dumb?! I tough you were a nerd! Aren't you supposed to be smart?!"

My eyes started watering. Why was he being so mean?

"W-why are you.."

"You know what?! I don't care about you and your stupid feelings!" He yelled, took the gift box that was in my hand and threw it in the trash.

My heart got smashed in a thousand pieces. All this time, I was the only one who thought we were friends..or more than friends. All this time, he didn't like me, I guess he only stayed by my side because of my brother. Now everything is clear.

Everyone started to gossip, stare and laugh at me. I just wanted to get away. So I ran while crying, I didn't look where I was going, then I bumped into someone.

I realized it was my brother, he was chatting with Kevin.

They saw that I was crying. My brother didn't understand what was happening, but Kevin guessed.

"Kat...was it him..?" He said greeting his teeth.

I just nodded my head while hugging my brother, that was patting my back.

"I'll be back." Kevin seemed really mad, then he started running and went away.

"Katherine, what is going on..?" My brother asked.

Should I explain everything? He likes Christian. But he is my brother, I shouldn't lie to him. I stayed quite for some time, then decided to tell him everything.

".....He did...what?!" My brother didn't seem to believe. I don't know why.

"Why..?" He asked.

"I guess..he only deal with me..because of you, brother.. It's ok, I understand.."

"No Katherine, you don't understand. Actually Christian really lov-"

"I'm back. Let's go Katherine." Kevin came back, interrupting my brother. His hand was bruised, like he punched something..or someone. Did he fight with Christian..? For..me..?

Kevin...

He held my hand and we walked away, leaving Zander behind. Then I saw Zander running to the lockers...what is happening today?!
