4: No one will ever serve you in this palace

Liying had asked for a personal tour of the palace.Her tigger was also with her enjoying the palace views. Though they would get a few awkward glances Liying didn't mind.

"Your Highness is golden fiery your favorite color ? Ran asked since she must always wear something of that color every time.

"No it just reminds me that there's a lot to live for in life, Liying replied.

As they walked down the palace Hale saw two of the most favored concubines of the emperor.

"Your highness on the right is Dalia and on the left is Alian those are two of the most favored concubines but in total there are four, but the empress is the most favored and beloved to the emperor,

When Liying reached them she gave a bow.

"Greetings your Highness, Liying said, but the two sneered there is no way they're going to bow to someone like her a subordinate and of very low status.

Ran and Hale noticed this, and they were so annoyed but there was nothing they could do because they were just servants.

"Its good that you bowed to us, but there is no way. We are going to bow to someone like you even though you are an emperor's concubine, Dalia said.

"I can see how they have treated you, you must be hated, and you don't want to get involved with someone like you, Alian said and they both laughed. Liying was still calm.

"Now excuse us our beloved Empress is holding a meeting she always does that after every 2 days to see how the concubines of the emperor are you doing. If you have the guts you can come though, Alian said then they shoved Liying and her servants aside before walking away.

"Your highness are you fine ? Ran asked.

"Am fine which meeting was she talking about ?Liying asked.

"Well Its a duty of the Empress to see how the concubines of the emperor are doing ?

"Take me them I also want to go, Liying said.

"Your highness you saw how they treated you if you got there it might be worse, Hale said.

"Its nothing I can't endure let's go,

Liying was taken there but on reaching she realized that there was no seat for her. The only seats that were available were the concubines of the emperor and the Empress but not her. They must have done this intentionally.

So Liying had to stand but she could still here the sneakers and the laughter of the other concubines behind her back. She was taught since childhood to always become in situations she can't control.

Ran and Hale was standing behind their master, and they felt so terrible. Why was their Highness being treated like that? What could she have done to them or more like what did the Empress see in their master.

"The Empress Arwen has arrived, the announcer announced and everyone stood up immediately giving a bow. Arwen walked so elegantly to her throne she then sat down and that's when everyone also sat down.

Arwen looked around and noticed a woman standing. She couldn't help but smile that must be Liying. Arwen looked at her closely, and she was really beautiful I can't flower that has just been bloomed and she had this innocent character that was very attractive.

Arwen looked at every single feature of hers, and she really was beautiful. Could that be the reason why the emperor chose her? This made her feel more angry, and she will make her life miserable.

"Let's begin does any of you have an issue ? Arwen asked.

"I do, Liying said but Arwen completely ignored her it was as if she didn't exist at all.

"I repeat does any of you have an issue ?

The concubines started talking and the Empress listened to them so closely providing a solution to their problems.

After Arwen was done with all of them she then turned to Liying.

"Sorry I had to deal with much more important issues now tell me what is your problem ? Arwen asked.

Liying just looked at her calmly she was indirectly saying that she wasn't important at all for her to worry much about.

"I came to the palace yesterday, but I have not been treated like a concubine to the emperor,

"And how is that ?Arwen asked.

"The place I've been given to stay is not fit and the food that I am given is beyond me,

"That is none of my concern if you have any problem with the food ask the chef and if you have any problem with where you're staying go and deal with that person I'm the Empress not your servant, Arwen said.

Liying just smiled she was now sure that the Empress hated her.

"Why do I feel like the Empress hates me am I a sudden threat to her ? Liying asked. The room turned chilly no one has ever spoken to the Empress like that.

Arwen glared at Liying she then stood up and everyone immediately bowed except Liying. Arwen walked over to her and slapped her, her two savants immediately knelt down as if asking the Empress to forgive their master.

Liying clutched her clothes in anger. She had to stay calm.

" Remember I am the Empress and I expect you to respect me because I can ruin you in a second,

Liying sneered and this irritated Arwen even more.

"I was only taught to respect those who respect me, Liying said calmly and Arwen eyes widened no one would ever do that to her could she really be a threat ?

"From now on you will never receive any special treatment. The only thing that you'll be having is those two useless servants of yours. If you want something for yourself go and get it don't you ever use anyone from this palace and that's the Empress decree, Arwen ordered.

"Yes your highness, everyone said and Arwen smirked being the Empress meant having power.

"If that's what the Empress requires to be a little secure about me then let it be so, Liying said and immediately left.

According to the rules no one is required to leave before the Empress leaves. And Liying left before Arwen that was truly amazing, but she had created an enemy for herself.

Ran and Hale ran after their master.

"Your Highness whatever you did there will cost you, Ran said.

"It was not as if she was going to treat me nice even if I behaved, Liying replied she then turned to her servants.

"Now that she has made my life miserable your life will also be miserable if you want to leave I will understand and will not hold any grudges, Liying said.

Ran and Hale immediately knelt down.

"Your Highness we will serve you till our very last days, they said in unison.

"Then there's no turning back right now I have to go to the market and get myself clothes to wear. I still can't believe I am married to an emperor, he is a person who never knows what is happening in his own house, Liying said all annoyed.
