3: The imperial palace.

Liying has never imagined her wedding would be like that. She had imagined a different type of wedding not a secret one.

The emperor just saw her and made her his concubine just like that. She couldn't even refuse him because it would come with consequences. Her husband must be busy somewhere not even knowing her bride has arrived.

He just made a decree and it happened. Liying played with her fingers until the carriage stopped.

The carriage door was opened and she got out. No one was even there to welcome her. What did she expect she is of no importance to the empire Which made her wonder why the emperor choose her?

The messenger felt bad for her just because she has no status she has been ignored like that. No one has ever treated the concubine of an emperor like that.

"I'll escort you to your room, he said. Liying took a breath and followed him. She shouldn't take this personally.

Liying was showed her room and she couldn't help but laugh. This was a servants room. Lazar the messenger saw this was terrible why would they do that to her.

"Don't worry I can endure this. Anyone who can do this is only the empress she must be after her. But why ?

" Do I have any servants ? Liying asked.

"Yes you were given only two, Lazar said shame.

Liying sneered normal concubines have more than 10 servants why is ahe only given two.

"Meet Ran and Hale, Lazar said, and two young girls appeared.

They gave a bow and stood still.

"If that's all Lazar you can leave, Liying said while looking around she had a lot of cleaning to do.

"Don't be so formal in front of me, Liying said, and the two servants smiled.

"Is there anything that you require ? Ran asked.

"Is his Highness coming here ? Liying asked since she is now a married woman and the husband must come the first night.

But on seeing their faces she knew the emperor wouldn't come. Liying sighed why then did he marry her ?

She removed her jewelry.

"We have to clean up this house I'm the emperor's concubine, but I am given such a place to live, Liying said while looking around.

The two servants felt bad for her and immediately helped her to clean.

The Empress sneered.

"His Highness assured me it was out of the benefit for the empire, but" I wish you could have been there to see the way he spoke of her. Deep down I know this because of personal interest,

"Sister he loves you, he chose you as the Empress don't think that Iow status girl will steal whatever you have,

"Remember you possess powers just like our emperor and all the officials but what about that princess she is nothing, Lydia added, and the empress smiled.

It was morning.

Liying was brushing Skyla's skin. Her two servants have served immortal beings before but not a supernatural tiger.

"Feed it, it won't harm, Liying said and Hale gave a try, and it wasn't bad. Hale then urged Ran to do the same but was a bit reluctant.

On spending time with them Liying realized Hale is a talkative one always talking and talking but when it comes to action she's a bit scared but can take a stand. Ran on the other hand it's very quiet and really smart she knows when to act and she knows when not to act.

She was lucky to have such type of people around her.

"I am so hungry, Liying whispered to herself and Ran rushed to her.

"What do you want to eat ? Ran asked.

"How did you ?

"I am blessed with great hearing capabilities, Ran replied.

"I would love anything you think is best since I am new here,

"I am on my way,

Liying was now left alone with Hale. She really was smart.

"Why do you think the Empress is attacking me ?

Liying asked.

"You are so smart you already figured it out that it was the Empress,

"Who else can I have this much power and the emperor he's not childish to do all this,

"According to I think the empress is threatened by you,

"Why ?

"Haven't you asked yourself why the emperor married you. He didn't even come to your wedding night,

"I have,

"My lady the other concubines will mock You for not spending a night with the emperor you'll have to endure a lot,

"That's all it is nothing I can't handle, Liying said calmly.

Soon Ran came in with the food. Liying looked at the food that was brought it was fit for a dog.

"Who give you this food ? Hale asked angrily.

"The chef when I told him it was for the new concubine, he immediately gave me this food Ran said.

Liying took a breath her life here was not going to be easy for sure.

"Don't worry your Highness I will go and get you good food, Ran said and immediately left to go and buy food.

"Your highness we are not from a rich family we are just the daughters of some commoners. We hope either from a royal family or a rich family. Liying didn't mind she would rather have servants who are loyal than servants from a rich family.

"Its fine I do not care nor do I mind, Liying said.

Soon Ran brought the food. They felt terrible because this was food for the commoners and not for an emperor's concubine.

"Your Highness this is the best I could find. I hope you do not mind, Ran said.

"Are you kidding me when I lived with my parents I used to go out and eat with other people I never liked those fancy foods so don't worry. In fact come and join me, Liying said.

"Your highness we will don't there, Hale and Ran said.

"It's an order, Liying said, and the two sat down with her.

"From now on you will always have breakfast with me, Liying said and they didn't complain.
