The shooting star!

The next morning, Kyle got out of bed early. He quickly freshened up, and went straight to the guest room.But when he got there, he realized his mother had beat him to it.

Linda was the first to reach Esmeralda. She really wanted to make sure whether Esmeralda was doing well. And indeed, she had gotten better but, she was still asleep.

She admired her,and how she brought somuch happiness into her children'life. Ten years ago, an incident with their father.They haven't been their happy and charming selves since. Even when they moved to Suthca.

Though they managed to make friends at their new school,dinner or anytime at home were always quiet.

All of that until last year when Kelly befriended an Ashlin girl online. She would smile, laugh and giggle more that often when she texted her new friend. This intrigued Kyle. He asked Kelly about her. He befriended her also, and ended falling in love. They became online couples within a few months.

Then life blossomed back into Linda's house,the laughter,the excitement and happiness. Esmeralda rekindled all of it back with texts and calls. She had so many things in common with them,even their birth months were the same.

Dinner wasn't quiet anymore as her kids would share with her how their day at school went, about their friends and...Esme.

She once had a video call with her. She loved how beautiful,polite and loving Esme was. She wanted as much as her children to meet her some day. And now, here she was...

Linda smiled looking at the girl's delicate face,she wished she could wait longer for her to wake up so she could hug her, but she had to leave for work.

Suddenly Kyle came in and she smiled. He son he cares a lot about her, huh? "Good morning son" .

Kyle smiled back,"Good morning Mom.How's Esmeralda? Is she feeling better?". Linda nodded,"Yes, but she needs some rest. As much as I want to see her wake up, I have to go to work."

"It's okay Mom, I understand. We will inform you when she wakes up", Kyle assured as he walked closer to them and leaned against the wall,hands in his pockets. The light from the window did wonders to his appearance .

His mom got up from the bed and kissed her son on the forehead and said," Do you want me to make you breakfast? What do you want--"

"It's okay Mom I'll take care of it. I'll make breakfast" Kyle cut her off with a smile.Linda was taken aback for her while. It was her turn this week to be doing the cooking, wasn't it?.

Just then, Kelly showed up, already freshened up but disappointed that she wasn't the first to the first to be there. She smiled and waved at them,"Hey guys. Good morning! So tell me is Esmeralda alright now? Is she awake?ohh let me see her..."

"She's fine Kelly but still asleep so keep it down" Linda smiled. "Ok . Wow I am hungry. What's for breakfast?" She asked rubbing her tummy. "Nobody is eating until Esmeralda wakes up!" Kyle retorted .

He had only wanted to be the one to make breakfast because of Esme. Maybe he should ask his mother to make Kelly her's, because there was no way he would make anything for his irritable little sister.

"Huh?..." Kelly raised a brow. What was his problem? He wasn't even the one supposed to make breakfast today.

She wanted to yell at her brother but thought for a second. She also didn't want to have breakfast without her best friend. It would be awesome to eat and chat with her at the table.

So she took in a breath to calm down." Well fine, okay. But you don't have to yell at me. Geez, what would Esme say?". She flashed a mischievous smile at him. Which only made Kyle scowl at her.

He had been forced to promise not to be rude to Kelly. Yeah ,Esme made Kyle do something he didn't want to do, and it was easy. All she had to do was say "pweeaseeee hubby boo" And Kyle agreed with a stupid grin on his face.

There was this time she annoyed so much,he cussed at her and raised his hand to smack her head like he usually did. She had winced and duck waiting for it, but it never came.

She saw him looking into the distance above her, probably remembering something. He groaned and slowly brought his hand down to his side. He looked back at her for a minute,smiled sweetly and then walked away.

"..."

That was the power of her bestie and it saved her life a million times.

Linda pulled them close and gave them pecks on their cheeks."Well I'll be going now" she sighed. "Remember to inform me when she wakes up, okay?"

"Okay" They both answered. Linda turned to leave and Kyle followed to see her out. After the door was closed, Kelly turned to look at her friend. She looked so adorable when she sleeps. Just then the sleeping beauty began to wake up, causing Kelly to gasp. Eyes slowly revealed her honey brown eyes.

"Oh where... where am I?Kevin?..." Esmeralda suddenly sat up when she saw a girl looking at her ,her expression shocked but excited. "Who...who.."

"Bestie, you're awake! Finally!" Kelly said clearly overjoyed. She threw herself down and hugged her.

"..."

Bestie? What the... Kelly pulled away to look at Esme smiling with tears of joy. Esmeralda gasped. It was.... it was her. Kelly... Kelly Renzo, her best friend.

Bringing up her thumb,she gently wiped the tears falling down Kelly's smooth cheek. "K... Kelly? Is it really you?" she whispered. "Yes! Yes it's me Esme. It's me . I can't believe you're here".

Esmeralda's eyes widened. "Oh Kelly! ",now it was her turn to hug and let out tears of joy. It's happening. It was really happening. She was meeting her best friend. But how? How?!

" Kelly. I can't believe this is really happening. " Esmeralda said after they pulled away , wiping their tears.

"Me neither,why didn't you tell me you were coming? Were you trying to surprise us?" Kelly asked really wanting to know. Now the confusion began again. "I... I don't know how I got here Kelly..",she said.

"Huh?", Kelly raised a brow.

How did I get here? I was in my room and... She gasped. The shooting star!!
