Chapter 5 – Passenger Seat

Minzy took the driver’s seat as she wants me to rest on our way home. We had a usual chitchat while she’s busy keeping her eyes on the road.

“You look different” she said

“What? Is my hair different? My face?” I asked while looking at the overhead mirror

“When you were talking to Sammy – (she smirked) you look different” she glanced at me while we have a quick stop as the traffic light turns red

“Ahmm – (starting to look shy) Minzy I don’t know” I said while looking at the window “Lately I’d been seeing some strange things on my dreams or sometime whenever I am spacing out, I’d been getting flashbacks out of memories that I do not own – But out of all those chaotic scenery in my head whenever I look at Sammy, whenever I see Sammy I feel like I am in safe ground” I shared but released a sigh after

“That was a deep sigh kid. What about?” Minzy asked

I looked at her “Sometimes, looking at him – I feel like I am sad too… Earlier when we were running the line for the audition I felt his words” I said

“Could it be because you are improving with your acting skills?” Minzy shared her opinion about it

I nodded and rested my back on my seat.

When we went to the condo building Minzy gave me some meds that I should take due to my headache and to get enough rest too. I think that’s the advantage of having a Doctor Guardian 😊

I went to my unit, fix my things and fresh n up. While I am on the shower I was recalling the audition with Sammy. Minzy said that I felt all that I felt could be because I have improved my talent. But, I know deep in my heart and in my mind it was something else. It is something else. The pain was just dreamlike but felt real…

Oh well, it could be also because of the effect of attending workshops after workshops and reading scripts after scripts…

I’d been working so hard (with all of my capabilities) to improve and to be deserving of a role that I would be proud of. I think this, right here, this is just normal. If you are so much in character, I think it is normal that sometimes you would see such uninvited things in your head.

That’s how it goes right?

I was about to sleep when I heard my phone ring…

“Copper! My Boy!!! My Mr. Co – Lead Actor!!!”

Did I hear it right?

I was just thinking of all the random stuff I have in my head and thinking it could be the effect of the hard work and all… and now –

I looked at my phone and check who’s calling and figured it is Alfie my handler/manager…

“Alfie – Don’t play trick on me please” I said with a begging tone of voice

“I am not!!! Congratulations!!!” he said

He sounded really happy and excited for me… I think it is really happening for real…

I took a deep breath after receiving the call… Held my phone close to my chest and close my eyes…

This is it Copper, this is it!!!

Over the phone conversation:

Line 1 – “Auntie how is he?”

Line 2 – “He is fine –“ sighted

Line 1 – “But it seems like he is not” sounded sad

Line 2 – “Stop worrying okay?” she said sounding a bit upbeat “He is feeling a bit of discomfort earlier but I was able to give him the right meds for it.”

Line 1 – “I wanna go there and see him now” sniffing

Line 2 – “Hey, don’t cry –“ she said while smiling

Line 1 – “I wanna help, I wanna be there, I want to be with him –“ you would hear a painful cry on the line

Line 2 – “You are doing great now… Whatever it is that you do, you are doing good”

Line 1 – “I miss him –“
