Chapter 2: Let's Learn MAGIC!

"AHHHH!!...what do I do now?!", I shouted frustration and desperation, well, mostly desperation. Suddenly, the door burst open, a woman with brown hair and hazel brown eyes came in, it was my beloved maid, Selene.

"Milady, what's wrong?! Is there a bug somewhere, a rat, or maybe someone with bad intentions?!", she asked worriedly while frantically looking around.

Seeing her silly behavior really puts me at ease. I was so touched that I suddenly hugged her, it was so sudden that she was clearly taken aback of my behavior, but that was only for a few seconds, and soon she also return the hug.

"What's the matter, Lumi-sama?", she asked gently while patting my head lovingly.

"It's nothing, Selene", I replied just as gentle.

'Ahh... I love moments like this, the way my family will call me by my nickname lovingly, the way Selene would pat my head, the way Mother would have tea parties for me just let me eat NY favorite snacks, and the way father and brother would fight to see who could get to spend the day with me first. Ahh... I really love them all.

"Hey, Selene~?", I asked cutely to get her attention even though I know her I have her full attention right now, but you know what they said it won't hurt if you act cutely if going to ask for something.

"Yes, Milady?", she replied gently while still patting my head.

"Um, can you get me a notebook and a pen?", I asked meekly, I know there's no need to ask something like that so meekly, but I can't help but act cute in front of Selene, she's like the big sister I've never had.

"Of course, Milady", she replied enthusiastically and immediately broke off the hug to find what I requested.

'And even if Selene is just my personal maid to some nobles out there, we treat each others as sisters, and therefore we are family, no everyone in the Grand Ducal Household of Valliot is my family. And that's why I...'

" Here you go, Milady", my thoughts were cut short as soon as Selene pop up behind me with a pen and a notebook. 'I already know this but she works fast', is the only thing I could process in my mind.

"Thank you, Selene! And um...can you leave me alone for a moment?", I said to her gratefully while giving her quick hug before giving her another order. ' I said order, but it's more if a request', I said to myself while laughing awkwardly.

"Of course, Milady! Please call me if you need anything else", she responded while returning the hug before leaving the room.

'I really am loved and that's why I'll get pass all of these doom flags and live a leisure life', I said to myself while placing my notebook on my desk before sitting on a chair and opening the notebook to create a plan.

'Let's start with writing down the heroine and the capture targets'.

'First is the Heroine, Liliana Clovis, she is the firstborn daughter of Count Clovis. According to the novel, she has platinum blonde hair and green eyes, she may appear cold and stoic on the outside, but she is a warm and kind person when you get to know her. She also possesses the light, water, and earth aptitude in the highest level.

'Then we have the capture targets. First, we have the Crown Prince, Elbert Phillips Dullémbréw. In the novel, he is arrogant but is righteous. He possesses fire and wind aptitude in the high level, and he is also good in swordsmanship.

'Next is the Second Prince and the half brother of the Crown Prince, Frederick Rashid Dullémbréw. According to the novel, he may be good in swordsmanship but compare to his brother the Crown Prince, his swordsmanship is only second to none. He possesses the water and earth aptitude in the high level of magic'.

'Then, we have, Alfred Vallienté, he is from the Grand Ducal Household of Vallienté, and he is also the prime minister's son. He may not be good in swordsmanship but his brains and magic are top-notch. He possesses the four nature elements, which means fire, water, earth, and wind aptitude in the high level of magic'.

'And finally, we have, Felix Schulman of the Marquisate Schulman. According to the novel, he is aspiring to be an imperial knight, he may not be the smartest or that good at magic but compare to all the capture targets his swordsmanship is undefeatable. He possesses the wind aptitude in the mid-level of magic'.

'There we go, I listed all the important characters connecting to all of my doom flags, all I need to do is to each capture targets, and I'll be safe. But wouldn't it be easier if I try to befriend the heroine? Hmm... I guess that'll be Plan A'.

'And then, Plan B is to defend myself using the magic and swordsmanship that I've learned so far, but there's one problem I haven't practice magic'. I said to myself while sighing in depression.

'I mean, I did said that I was practicing my swordsmanship and 'magic' but when my parents gave me their permission, my father said I should learn the formula of the spells, so that there won't be any accidents. And so, for these past few years, I've only been learning the spell's formulas'.

'That's why, I'll face Father tomorrow to let me learn real magic. Here we go, Operation: Let's Learn MAGIC!', I said to myself, burning with determination to change our tragic fate.
