Books are often an escape from reality, taking us to imaginable and unimaginable worlds. Our dear Becca developed a love for them when she was just a little girl. Her father used to read her a story every night before bed. Like any girl, she dreamed of a prince charming who would rescue her on his white horse. But as time went on, she learned that this prince charming would never come, and he never did.
She arrived at the nearest branch of the bank to withdraw her savings. Today was a great day, as her dream was finally going to come true. She didn't want Fanny to accompany her because she felt sorry for her mood. She prepared a calming tea for Fanny, took her to a guest room, and tucked her in to rest for a while.
Despite Fanny's insistence, she refused to be accompanied. Everything would be fine, right? At least that's what she thought.
Upon arriving at the bank, she was greeted by a familiar advisor who would handle the entire transaction.
"Rebecca, you just need to sign here, and we can give you your money."
She placed her signature where indicated, her handwriting was perfect, so much so that she always received compliments for it.
"Very well, please go to the room over there," she points to a gray door, "I'll give you your money, which amounts to $100,000. I hope to be able to go soon and buy some books to enjoy with your coffee."
Of course, she knew the taste of Becca's coffee since she had been a customer at a small cafe where she worked, it was the best coffee she had ever tasted.
"I hope so!" Becca replied enthusiastically.
She put the money in her bag and left the bank full of hopes and expectations about what life will bring her from now on.
Today destiny would bring her a surprise that would be her worst nightmare, but also the best thing that ever happened to her.

"It can't be! That disheveled woman cannot be my second chance," he thought while stopping the thief with a punch. No, Eon wanted to protect her from anyone who wanted to harm her, it was he who acted against the thief.
The forty-year-old blonde kicked the thief twice, and Antoine decided to grab her by the waist, noticing her slim waist under all that ugly clothing.
"That's enough!" a deep voice stopped his attempt to take justice into his own hands. "Are you crazy?"
When she finally stood in front of the owner of that voice, he was an incredibly attractive man with poise and elegance. He had something that had a magnetic effect on her. For him, it was madness that there could be a second chance, and above all, that it would be a middle-aged woman, poorly dressed, and human. The goddess Luna must hate him to send him such a horrendous woman.
Noticing the disgusted look that man was giving her annoyed her. It was true that she wasn't a supermodel, but she didn't deserve such a contemptuous gaze.
"Crazy? HA!" she placed her hands on her hips. "This man stole from me, he was going to take my salary, and because I want to defend myself, I'm crazy? You're the crazy one."
"If it weren't for me, that salary would already be spent."
While the two argued, the thief took advantage and escaped. Jacques, Antoine's beta, hit him again, causing him to fall to the ground, looking up at the sky.
"Well, well..." She didn't know how to respond, the hunk had an intense gaze. "You know what? Thanks, but I was already catching up to him."
"Sure, I could tell... Madam."
The twitch in her eye that always appeared when someone called her "Madam."
"Ma'am? Ma'am? Go to hell!"
