Episode 4

We all have bad days, no one escapes that, although for some it seems to be a daily occurrence. Antoine is not the exception to that rule. It seems like he hates everyone, the only ones who are not afraid of him are his parents and his beta. Because even Gretta is afraid of him when his alpha voice comes out.

His anger today is due to his clumsy secretary not sending an email on time, causing a momentary loss of a million-dollar contract. Poor Fanny became unemployed on the same day, heading downcast to her good friend Becca's house. Yes, ironically Fanny is Becca's best friend. They were both united by the loss of their parents when they met at the hospital on that fateful day. Rebecca was 7 years older, she comforted that little 10-year-old girl who also lost her parents and little brother due to the recklessness of that drunk driver. Two families were destroyed that night.

Fanny arrives at Becca's house with a terrible appearance, of course her friend is worried to see her like this.

"My dear Fanny, what's wrong?" she asks, concerned.

"My boss, Mr. Dumont, fired me and now I don't know what I'll do" she cries inconsolably.

"Don't worry, we'll figure something out. You know you can always come here."

"Thank you, but I don't want to be a burden to you, you've already done so much all these years. You helped my grandma without asking for anything in return."

"I grew fond of you and Grandma Kate."

She invites her to the kitchen, which is her favorite place in the whole house. She offers her a cup of coffee, those coffees that make all sadness and worries disappear.

On the other hand, Jacques, Antoine's beta, was angry about the dismissal of his sweet Fanny. It turns out that the brunette is his mate, although he hadn't found the courage to tell her yet. Fanny knows the nature of her bosses because she also has lycanthrope blood, although she is not a shape-shifter.

"How could you fire her? Damn it, Antoine! She is my mate."

At that revelation, Antoine opens his eyes wide, feeling remorse. Although in his favor, he didn't know because Jacques never told him.

"Well, you should have told me that this clumsy woman was your destined one" the alpha argues.

A growl escapes Jacques.

"Don't treat her like that, I won't care if you're the alpha of alphas."

"Are you threatening me?"

"No, I'm warning you..."

He storms out of the office, heading to the human resources department where they should have Fanny Grill's address. He goes down a few floors and reaches Blade's office, a millennia-old werewolf who is also the Delta of the pack.

"Blade, I need you to give me Fanny's address, please."

"I'm glad you've decided to go after her, she's a beautiful woman and you deserve to be happy."

Jacques expresses gratitude for his friend's words.

"I can't keep denying love, Therion is going crazy to go find her."

"Well, what can I say, my friend, go after that girl."

The beta wolf almost runs off to find his beloved Fanny, this being the first encounter he would have with the Moon of moons.

Fanny Grill had lived a simple life in the small town of Oakwood for as long as she could remember. She was known for her kind heart and warm smile, which endeared her to everyone in the community. Fanny worked at the local library, surrounded by the precious books she loved so much. Every day, she would greet the patrons with a friendly hello and help them find the perfect book to transport them to different worlds.

One afternoon, as Fanny was shelving books, a mysterious man entered the library. Dressed in a dark suit and a hat that concealed his face, he seemed out of place among the shelves of stories. Fanny watched him intently as he browsed the bookshelves, his fingers gently grazing the worn spines.

Unable to contain her curiosity, Fanny approached the man and asked if there was anything she could help him find. He turned towards her with piercing blue eyes that seemed to hold a thousand untold stories. With a voice as smooth as velvet, he simply replied, "I am looking for an adventure, something that will ignite my imagination and take me on a journey."

Fanny's eyes lit up as she understood the man's request. She led him to a section of the library where rows upon rows of adventure novels were stacked, waiting to be discovered. As the man perused the titles, Fanny couldn't help but feel excitement bubble up inside her. She knew that the books in this section held countless tales of daring escapades and thrilling exploits.

After what felt like hours, the man finally selected a book. As Fanny handed it to him, their hands touched, and a shiver ran down her spine. Time seemed to stand still as they shared a brief moment of connection. With a grateful smile, the man tucked the book under his arm and left the library, disappearing into the afternoon sunlight.

Days turned into weeks, and Fanny couldn't stop thinking about the mysterious man. She found herself daydreaming about the adventures he might be embarking on and the stories he would create from the book she had recommended. Fanny wondered if their paths would ever cross again, or if he would forever remain a figment of her imagination.

One quiet afternoon, as Fanny was lost in thought, the library door creaked open once again. She looked up to see the man from before, his eyes still as captivating as ever. He approached Fanny with a smile, returning the book he had borrowed.

"I've returned to thank you," he said, "for introducing me to the wonders that lie hidden between the pages of books. Since I read that adventure novel, my life has been filled with excitement and curiosity. I've traveled to far-off lands and encountered fantastical creatures, all within the confines of my own mind."

Fanny's heart soared at his words. She had always believed in the power of books to ignite the imagination and transport readers to new worlds. Seeing the impact her recommendation had on the man only reinforced her passion for sharing stories.

As the man prepared to leave once more, Fanny mustered up the courage to ask him a question that had been burning in her mind since their first encounter. "Will you ever return?" she asked, her voice hopeful yet tinged with uncertainty.

With a knowing smile, the man replied, "Perhaps our paths will cross again, but for now, I must continue my own adventure. Thank you, Fanny, for showing me the magic of literature."

And with that, he stepped out into the world, leaving Fanny with a heart full of hope and a renewed sense of purpose. She knew that her role as a librarian was more than just organizing books – it was about sparking the imaginations of those who seek the magic hidden within the pages. Fanny would forever be grateful for the mystery that had entered her life and the reminder that stories have the power to change lives.
