C H A P T E R 17 – The Truth Under The Fireworks

“I-I” Her hands were trembling and took a deep breath.

“I like you, Kei”

That made Hirose shocked on her sudden confession came from her lips. It seems he gulped and looked away from Alice’s gaze.

“U-uhh. Why do you like me?” That made Alice’s heart jumped. She didn’t know what was the reason behind her likeness of Hirose. It was about to get awkward when the prince brought a laugh.

“Alice, s-stop joking around”

“I-I’m not! I just like the way you treat me” Hirose gulped again like he did wrong again.

“Alice. That’s the way I treat my friends who are close to me”

“Hahaha. You’ve got to be kidding me” The prince laughed again. Alice looked down, having a feeling of pain. Hirose continued to say.

“Man, I didn’t know you’re falling for me” She got depressed and it made her think that she was being played by him.

“I have to go now” Alice released her grip from his shirt. Hirose was about to leave but she suddenly screamed his name.

“Kei!” He turned around

“What’s your answer, Kei?” She asked making the male scratched behind his head.

“Uhh. I don’t know”

“But-”

“Keitaro!” A sudden male voice was to be heard and made Alice’s sentence got cut off. A male’s appearance appeared. He approached Hirose and suddenly held his hand. Alice froze but still looking at the two males holding hands to each other.

“W-what’s the meaning of these?” Alice got confused.

“A-alice, let me explain”

“Are you…” Now that Alice realized the truth, Hirose couldn’t help but to tell her.

“You’re right. I’m really a gay” His secret finally revealed.

“Alice. I’m sorry for not telling you straightly. I’m just afraid that you will not accept the real me. I’m really having a relationship with a guy for the whole time. I’m sorry for telling a lie and gave you high hopes. I just… didn’t expect that it will go like this”

He shortly explained. But, it wasn’t enough for Alice. She almost got in tear and did her best not to cry. Her aura darkened and glared at the two males.

“You’ll just have to tell me the truth. Even if you’re a bisexual, pansexual, gay or something, I will still accept you, Kei! Y-you don’t need to tell me a lie. Just be real to yourself!” Alice tried to smile at the worried Hirose.

She couldn’t help but to leave. She felt so much pain after seeing Hirose with a guy. She started to walk away slowly, not looking back at them. The prince called her name but she still continued until she disappeared on their sight.

“Let’s just leave her, Keitaro.” The two males left the park.

“So, the that Hirose guy was a gay? That’s…… I don’t know”

Tada witnessed all the incident and it made him shocked. He couldn’t say anything of what he saw. It was a total speechless for him.

He quickly followed Alice and patted her shoulder. Alice looked behind her and saw Tada. Her eyes widened and looked away from him, biting her lower lip.

“You saw it, aren’t you?” She questioned and Tada nodded. He walked in front of her and now patted both of her shoulders.

“It must be hurt.” His simple words made her trembled.

“Really, it is.”

Suddenly, Tada pulled Alice for a hug. He wrapped his arm around her waist and another arm was wrapped on her head making her face buried on his chest.

“W-what are you doing?!”

“Just… Cry your heart out” He tightened his hug. He was so concerned to Alice. She then flustered so hard and hugged Tada back.

“I got dumped, Tada” She said her words. Her tears started came out continuously. She couldn’t hold back her tears and her heart is in pain. She got rejected and knew what Hirose was. She clenched his shirt and yelling in tremble.

“K-kei!!! You jerk!! ”

Her yell was not meant to be heard by other people when the fireworks began to burst ceaselessly.

It spins. It whirled. It splattered. It scattered. It was glowing. It was twinkling. It was sparkling and yet, Alice didn’t bother to see the beautiful blazing fireworks.

“Thank you for being here, Tada”
