The 1st year boys were dismissed to find their rooms and settle in.
Reece, at the very end of the crowd took his as he watched the group got scattered to find their respective rooms.
Reece, after few seconds went on his own Room Hunt. Thanks to his senior Daniel he won't have that much trouble finding his room.
honestly Reece was a lot nervous. How will his roommate be? will he like Reece? what if he hates him? what if he can't be friends with his roommate?
anxiety was kicking Reece. But Reece remembered his therapists words.
Reece followed his calming exercise for ten seconds and stepped inside the room
One would think his roommate was robbed.
Clothes, books, shoes, dumbbells, and other things lying everywhere

Looks like my roommate isn't exactly a fan of cleaning.
Reece huffed in disappointment.
Reece
I'll just clean my side.
The room was so messy that he could not understand which one was his side. But one side did look less messy.
Reece
That must be my Side.
Reece spend the next hour by cleaning everything on the floor. As much as he didn't want to touch his roommate's stuff, they were on his side so he had to touch them.
Reece
He would understand, right? maybe he would even be happy that I cleaned the room?
'whatever' he thought. His roommate won't be that petty.
His phone rang with a notification. It was a text from His father.
Reece's dad

Reece's dad
Good. Eat properly and attend all your classes.
and that was it. It has been like this since that incident. Reece and his father have a strained relationship. They are awkward around each other. And his father spends most of time in work.
It's not that his father blames him or hates him for what happened. He just can't face Reece who resembles his wife so much. To distract himself from the pain of loss he started giving his all attention to his work. Soon His small company was expanding and now stood as one of the top #50 companies.
In forgetting his own pain he forgot about his own son.
Reece shook his head to kick out the unnecessary thoughts.

I should go and get something to eat.
He decided he'd do that. He needed to stock his snacks as well.
There was a convenience store in the college campus.
The moment he got out he stumbled upon someone.

Reece eased up on the strangers warm smile. Tim was pointing behind him, the room just beside his own.
Reece stretched his arm for a shake but Tim just went ahead with a hug.

Oh, I am going down to the convenience store, if you-
Tim leaned in closer and spoke in a whisper

I spilled coffee on my roommate's shirt. I need to hurry and clean it up before he comes back. Or else I'm dead.
Tim
shh!! that's why I was in a hurry!
Reece
Yup! I think I know how to get rid of coffee stains.
Tim
That'd be great. Let's go.
The two boys who were strangers 5 mins ago went on their mission to get rid of coffee stain.
Reece didn't felt uncomfortable talking to a stranger if anything he felt like they have been friends for years.
He smiled to himself before stopping, he shouldn't think that far ahead. what if Tim doesn't want to be friends with him.
Reece
we will need detergent and vinegar.
Tim
I'll get the detergent, can you get the vinegar
Reec went spying on the aisles, looking for vinegar.
it's second time of the day that Reece crashed onto someone else.
Reece looked up at the stranger rubbing his forehead. Unlike Tim, this boy was tall. Like really Tall.
The stranger smiled warmly.
Joe
Me too! I'm Joseph by the way. You can call me Joe.
Tim
Reece! Did you get the- who are you?
Reece
He's a first year too.
Joe

The two boys found the vinegar right after Joe left. They paid for everything and left too.
Reece
Okay, At first soak the shirt in warm water and then rub some detergent and then for 15 mins let the shirt soak in vinegar and you'll be done.
Tim
You sound experienced.
Reece
Yeah, I spilled coffee on My father's coat once.
Tim
woah, ... I think I'll do the rest of the stuff on my own. Thanks for the help.

Reece didn't want to disappoint his new friend so he nodded.

I'll pick you up at 7 tomorrow then.
Reece was happy. He seemed to have made friends. During his high-school life he didn't have friends. His anxiety and shyness won't let him have any. Unless people came and talk to him, you won't listen to a word of his. He didn't have any bullies thankfully. He did have a friend for 8 months, though.
Reece reminisced about his past while unlocking the door.
As soon as he opened the door he collided unto a wall.
what? there wasn't supposed to be a wall. Wait, that's a person.
third time. it's third time today that Reece collided into someone.
The door closed behind him.
The stranger cornered him against the door. He towered over Reece. Reece was very much intimidated.
By the looks of it, this stranger is his roommate and he's not happy.
