Memories
young Reece
Mommy, are you sure you're going to pick me up after school???
Reece's Mom
Yes, Baby. . . Don't worry.
Reece's Mom
Aww. Baby, I am sorry that I didn't come to pick you up this week. I was busy I promise I will come to get you today.
young Reece
it's okay, I just don't want Trent to make fun of me again.
The woman didn't have any more problem coaxing her son. He's an understanding kid. He rarely throws tantrum.
young Reece
Mummy! It's 8 already! Hurry, I don't want to be late!
Reece's Mom
Baby your classes starts from 8:30! No one's going to be there now.
young Reece
No~ my friends are waiting for me. We decided to play tag today!
young Reece
Uh huh! Hurry!
The woman laughs to herself seeing her son being a kid.
But the smiles and laughs don't last long.
It happens so fast that the kid have no idea what actually happened. The only thing he sees is the blinding light of an approaching large vehicle before it's all black.
young Reece
Where are you?*sobs*
The kid finally sees his mom. Her body dangling upside down, blood everywhere. She has something going through her right chest. It's a tree branch, piercing her. Suddenly Reece felt he couldn't speak anymore. Sobs vibrated through him,
Reece's Mom
It's okay, baby*wheezing* It's going to be okay. You. . . Okay.
The young child watched his Mother as life slowly drained out of her.
The paramedics pulled him out of the car another 25 minutes later. He watched as his father wept over his Mother's body. He heard his father having a conversation with the men.
words like "drunk", "too much blood lost" and "sorry" came to him.
The young child didn't know what was happening but at the same time he knew what was really happening. He didn't speak for 8 months. Denied to ear properly. Sleep didn't come easy to him and even if it did, nightmares came with it too.
10 years passed with Reece carrying the memory of his Mother's eyes looking straight at him without any life. The hand that hold onto him till her last moment, slowly turning cold.
Young Eric
Hyun-Ah~ let's not do this, auh?
Young Hyun Ah
Coward! Nothing will happen, okay.....besides it's 50000 won!
Young Eric
Whatever, don't go there!
Young Eric
It's too risky, what if you fall??
Young Hyun Ah
then do you want to go and bring it instead?
Young Eric
*shakes head* Hyun-ah~aaa
Young Hyun Ah
oppa, you just stand there and look out for me. I will bring the note. And don't even think if splitting the money!!
The girl was too brave, even more than her twin brother. They were partners in crime. No one could separate the two. What Hyun Ah did, Hyun Ki followed.
But today, what they were doing wasn't something they should do. They live in one of the most luxurious apartment. And just on the ceiling of their balcony was stuck a note of 50,000 won. And Hyun Ah decided she will have it.
They have set the ladder but to reach the note they have to climb on the other side of the ladder which was outside the balcony railing.
Hyun Ah was confident she could do it. She always was. But her little mind couldn't have think what was Going to happen.
The young boy hold onto the ladder, their mother was inside in the nursery feeding their little brother. They have to be quiet and quick.
Everything was going according to Hyun Ah's Plan.
Young Hyun Ah
Oppa!!! I got it!!
The girl smiled brightly down at her brother.
Young Eric
Okay, come down now.
The kids looked at their father who was horrified seeing his daughter hanging on the balcony.
Hyun Ah tried to come down fast but slipped. It happened all too fast for either of them to register.
Hyun Ki stood there reaching out his Hand for his sister who he have lost now. He watched from above as his sister's body landed on the floor with soft thud, limbs bend in a way that was impossible for Hyun Ah to do if she wanted to do it. Blood pooled around her head slowly all he saw was red.
Hyun Ki didn't hear his mother come in. She broke out in sobs. And what happened after was all blurr. He still can't remember what happened after that.
But he still remembers the moment when he watched his sister slip out of his life. His sister's eyes begging him to save her but he couldn't.
Two Ten Year Old in different parts of country carries the memories of their loved ones slipping out of their life before their eyes. And they couldn't do anything. What's left are the memories. All to clear, as if it happened just yesterday.
