The first one was named Johnson, who was hated by the Evil twins and the kind and nice younger brother of them.

And the second one was named Monica the Angel from Heaven.

I don't know why they got tortured and I don't think that they die. Because they were immortal and they didn't feel pain, so she put them into somewhere else.

Of course Johnson was a kid and the Evil twins were I don't know how old are they.

So The old friend was right.
