Diplomat Hotel : Where's Dazirene?
DIPLOMAT HOTEL - CHAPTER 1
UP Asian Institute of Tourism
Life has been very boring. I learned to adapt in the new environment, in this university to be specific. Well... I've always thought that I would only be pressured by how exorbitant this place feels, but I was wrong. Those are just reminders that I chose this path, therefore, I need to face the consequences.
I stood in the middle of the grass, still pampered about successfully stepping inside the campus on the first day. Now's the first day of my college life.
June 7, 2022.
Dollibae Agapinay
This is it. Haaa... this is it, Dollibae. You can do it.
I comforted myself as I gesture my hands down my chest, breathing heavily. I'm kinda nervous because I still don't know who I could interact with. I mean it feels very uneasy, and uncomfortable, and unhinged. Furthermore, I am a very sociable person, but... suddenly, I practically don't know how to socialize. My mouth shivers, my whole body shivers as if I am an ignorant paralyzed who got recently stung by a venomous bee! Hush.
I heard a step coming forward from behind, but I remained still. I roamed my eyes around the building as I stand still on the grass field, witnessing every student, piled up with books, and with whatever those are on their hands. Paper works maybe?
I later realized, somebody's hand was on my shoulder, causing me to jump out of indefinite shock.
Anonymous
I'm... sorry for scaring you, but may I just ask where room 2A is? I'm still new, haven't gone here before...
I deeply sighed, realizing it was just some random girl, trying to ask where that room is. Wait... we're in the same room, same section!
Dollibae Agapinay
I'm actually finding the same room, though... I'm still here, stupidly standing on the grass, but let's just go inside the hall. I'm pretty sure it's just a quickie to find the room.
The girl agreed. We started walking towards the entrance of the AIP hall. The guard even checked our IDs out, which we let the guard check on, then finally, moving forward to finding where room 2A is.
How ignorant we did not even ask the guard, of course the guard knows very well about this building!
Anonymous
What's your name?
She suddenly asked as she roams her eyes around the hallway, looking up for the signs if ever that lands on the subject we're currently finding. Well, today's not the typical class. Just orientation to be specific. We chose our schedules, we can change the schedule if we want to, base on the subjects we wanted to take. That's some kind of freedom I want! Without being hindered on graduation by this fricking inevitable math!
Dollibae Agapinay
I'm Dollibae, you can just call me Dolli in short.
Yorish Platero
I'm Yorish, nice to meet you at this very first day of class.
We shook each others' hands as a sign of tribute for respect as we're like some good deeds, getting along on the first day.
Dollibae Agapinay
I hate this so much! I hate searching for rooms, it's like we're trapped in a hideous, unentertaining maze!
I complained as I form a hard fist. I saw her chuckling, with her hands covering her mouth. She stopped for a moment, then faced towards me.
Yorish Platero
Look at your back.
She ordered, which I immediately followed, banging up the sign of section 2A. So... does that mean that she just made fun of me, unnoticeably complaining about something so obvious? Gosh, people these days, really!
I slowly turned my pace back at hers, now laughing uncontrollably as if she's on a cartoon. What are you, Jerry the stupid cat?! I sighed so deep, walked inside the room quietly, that not even her who's in the actual front of me didn't notice.
I noticed a printed paper covered in a glossy plastic pinned on the wall at the back. I looked at it, only to see the mandatory sitting arrangement, and for God's sake, I don't know who this Jaevier Cruz... is. Seemed like a guy. AHHH I HATE GUYS SO MUCH.
I frantically sat down on the assigned desk I'm mandated to sit at. I wonder who this Jaevier is, he's late on first day. I saw Yorish, quickly running towards her seat without even checking where her seat actually is base on the seating arrangement. Our eyes met, causing us to smile at each other's faces. These people are in a hurry. I bet, this class would be a rollercoaster.
A professor came in, a lady, not too old, but not too young, a beautiful lad, endearing glasses on her eyes, pointed nose, lips covered in red lipstick while wearing a white long sleeve, the button which should be covering her belly is unbuttoned... Suddenly, she slammed her paper works on the table, which caused everybody to behave.
Don't tell me... for the love of God, is she going to be a terror one? I do not hope so, I've had a trauma before! I just corrected our professor back then in senior high having abnormals in her tests, yet she gave me 75, for the reason that I embarrassed her in the class??? Like girl, you're not in the movie or what, so stop being a pick me teacher.
Mrs. Ferrer
I am not the typical professor, where I want everyone to introduce themselves in the first day.
She spoke with a lunatic tone. She got this deep, ferocious voice, and I'm scared, really scared. Well, gladly, I wouldn't have to struggle speaking in front just for everybody to get to know me, yet, after all the drama and such, they would just literally ask my name whenever a group activity is assigned. That's very nonsense.
Mrs. Ferrer
I am Naomi Ferrer, and you guys can just call me Mrs. Ferrer.
She continued with a blank stare at the back. I looked at my back, only to see no one sitting on the desk...
IS SHE LOOKING AT ME WITH THAT EXPRESSION?
Mrs. Ferrer
I will be your professor in Risk Management, so do expect that the tours we'll be having in the near future for your papers, works, even thesis will have to do with me. I will also be your guide on the risks of the destinations, and whatnot. Understood?
She asked as she raises her left brow, which we answered delightfully. Some answered with a nod, while some answered vocally, including me.
A guy, out of the blue, appeared at the front door. I think Mrs. Ferrer just predicted it as she stopped talking while having a blank expression again right in front of us, not looking at the front door. She coughed multiple times, giving a signal to the guy to speak up, but due to high pressure, the guy just came in, checked on the sitting arrangement, even jumped that he realized Yorish's on his seat. He asked Yorish to find her seat, but then Mrs. Ferrer walked towards them, having a little tap noises on her shoes.
Mrs. Ferrer
Name? Both of you. Give me your name.
She furiously asked, making both Yorish and the guy gulp down their abdomens.
As they were not answering, Mrs. Ferrer forcefully snatched their IDs, reading their names one by one.
Mrs. Ferrer
So... Yorish Platero, and Russelvic Mevouitre? Hm? Care to speak about the current situation?
She smirked at them. The guy could have a reason why he's late, and I want him to really speak up because even me, who's not in their position, could feel the pressure to my bones, and it's excruciating!
Yorish Platero
U-uhm... I... I did not notice there was a seating arrangement at the back, Ma'am. You could have–
Mrs. Ferrer
I could have what? Put it on the board?
Mrs. Ferrer rolled her eyes, giving their IDs back. She came back to the table, sitting with a static poise.
Mrs. Ferrer
As a carrier of the Risk Management subject in Tourism, I am exercising everyone to always put everything on notice. You may not know, a danger's on your back, yet you're still out there, monotonously unaware.
She threw few words. She let Yorish and the guy, Russelvic to sit on their respective seats, and went on a long and boring discussion about the repetitive classroom rules... Ugh! I want to puke every time I've got to hear those cliché rules, like hello? We're already college students. C O L L E G E S T U D E N T S, and I'm pretty sure they're aware of the classroom rules, unless otherwise, they faked their good moral certificate. A criminal would do that, anyway.
It's already the class dismissal. For six constant hours, discussed and oriented everything regarding the campus. Well, the campus is indeed huge and very wide, I could even get lost here for like a week. Speaking of which, I still haven't grabbed my breakfast and lunch, causing my stomach to grow like a hungry lion, not being able to catch on a prey for a year constantly. Lol, that's very exaggerated.
Right before I could even walk outside the door at the back, Yorish pulled my arm, which I replied with a frown, looking at her with my two innocent and beautiful eyes. I hate the touches of those who aren't close to me.
She spoke to me. I heard my stomach growling so much, I could not even endure my hunger already. What's the matter of this girl?
Yorish Platero
I need to address this to you... immediately.
She continued while I still have the look of a grumpy old lady. I mouthed of what that "address" she's pertaining to, but she walked me down the corridor of the current floor we're in. THE CAFETERIA IS RIGHT BESIDE THE ROOM, YET SHE WALKED ME TO THE FARTHEST DISTANCE FROM MY COMFORT TO THIS HELL OF A HUNGER I AM EXPERIENCING.
AHHHHH I HATE THIS DAY, I WILL FOREVER HATE THIS DAY.
I've always thought first day is the quietest you've ever have in your school life, primarily in college life, BUT WHY DO I HAVE TO SUFFER LIKE THIS?
