Chapter 2: The Eternity Orb

I couldn't shake the feeling that I couldn't fully trust this woman, despite the powerful aura that I could sense emanating from her. She seemed to be keeping something from me, and I couldn't shake the feeling that there was more to this situation than she was letting on.

"Another day, by the Nevel Lake," she said, gazing out the window at the clear blue sky.

The lake was surrounded by lush green forests, and the sun's rays sparkled on the water's surface.

"I heard two men talking."

"What were they talking about?" I asked, curious.

"The Eternity Orb," she replied.

"The Eternity Orb? What were they saying?" I asked, still confused.

"They said it's still out there, and their master wants it," she explained.

The Eternity Orb. According to legend, it was a mythical object that had existed for millions of years, imbued with unimaginable power. But I had always been told that it was shattered during the Eternity War, when the kingdom of Advalcon and the neighboring kingdom of Qiulyo fought over it.

I was shocked by this news. Was it possible that the Eternity Orb was still out there, even though it was shattered?

"I thought it was broken?" I asked, confused.

"Why would their master want to find it if it's broken?"

"I think they believe Lord Cormac lied about the orb being broken, so there's no one else planning to find it," she said, her face serious as she continued to gaze at the sky.

"That's insane," I exclaimed, unable to believe what I was hearing.

"Why would Lord Cormac lie about something like that?"

"I don't know," she replied, her voice laced with suspicion.

The Eternity War was sparked by the pursuit of the Eternity Orb, with Lord Galen of Qiulyo determined to take it from Lord Cormac of Advalcon. However, after Lord Cormac emerged victorious and killed Lord Galen, he claimed that the Eternity Orb had been shattered during the war. It seems that this statement has been called into question, as there are now rumors circulating that the orb may still exist and that Lord Cormac may have lied about its destruction.

"But the fact that these men are willing to go to such lengths to find it, tells me that there must be something special about it," she said, her eyes narrowing as she spoke.

I couldn't help but feel a sense of unease wash over me at the thought of this mythical object being pursued by unknown forces. The fact that this woman, who exuded power and confidence, was still wary of the situation only added to my anxiety. I knew that I had to be careful and stay alert if I wanted to make it out of this alive.

"What should we do?" I asked, feeling a sense of urgency.

"We need to find out more about the Eternity Orb," she said, determination etched into her features.

"We can't let it fall into the wrong hands. The consequences could be catastrophic."

I nodded, knowing that she was right. We needed to uncover the truth about the Eternity Orb and put a stop to whatever nefarious plans were in motion.

As I frantically try to make sense of the situation and wonder about the identity of the mysterious master mentioned by Orion I am with, I can't help but feel a sense of dread wash over me. If this unknown person manages to obtain the Eternity Orb, it could have disastrous consequences for the world. Just as these thoughts are running through my head, Orion suddenly leaps to the window.

"Hey!" I shout, startled.

I quickly rush to the window and see Orion running towards the road, chasing after a man who is dressed all in black and wearing a hat. Without hesitation, I grab my bag and sprint after them. However, when I return to the window to try and locate them, they are nowhere to be found. Desperate for a way to track them down, I shout out the word,

"Scan!" and cast a spell.

"Spell: Scan - It is a spell that allows you to see the aura of all people within range clearly."

I wait anxiously for the spell to take effect, hoping it will help me locate Orion and the man she is chasing. After a few tense seconds, I am able to sense Orion's aura moving to the east, as if she is engaged in some kind of confrontation.

I also detect another aura that seems similar to Orion's, but not quite as strong. Without hesitation, I jump out the window and set off towards the east, determined to find out what is happening and do whatever I can to help.

As I run towards the east, a man suddenly appears in front of me, dressed in similar clothing to the man that Orion was chasing. I come to a halt and focus on Orion's aura, sensing that she is engaged in some kind of battle.

However, as I turn my attention to the man in front of me, I realize that his aura is similar to Orion's, but not as strong. I can't help but wonder what this means and what role this man may be playing in the situation.

Summoning: Golem Lord!" He cast the spell and a huge golem emerged from the ground.

I had no choice but to fight.

"Out! Luminesce and Obscura!" My two swords, Luminesce the light sword wielded by the Paladin, and Obscura the dark sword, appeared before me.

I was surprised when the Golem Lord stood before me, its rock arm raised and ready to strike. I quickly grabbed my swords and jumped back,

I tried to sneak a peek at Orion's aura as she continued to fight against the five men, but the golem was standing in front of me again, its massive fists clenched and ready to strike. I knew that this guy was serious, and I knew that I had to be on my guard if I wanted to make it out of this alive.

"Obscura, Dark Slice!" I shouted, swinging my dark sword with all my might.

The blade cut through the golem's thick hide with ease, slicing a deep gash in its body. The golem crumpled to the ground, its body lifeless and still.

The man's face contorted with frustration as he saw his golem fall. He signaled to someone, and suddenly four more men appeared, surrounding me on all sides. I knew that I was in for a tough fight, but I was ready to do whatever it took to protect Orion and defeat our enemies.

As the men closed in on me, I felt a surge of panic wash over me. I wasn't sure if I could take them all on, but I had to try. I couldn't just stand there and do nothing while Orion was in danger. I gritted my teeth and readied myself for the fight that was about to come.

The men unsheathed their small swords and slowly approached me, their eyes fixed on me with determination. I could feel their eagerness to engage in combat, and I knew that I had no choice but to defend myself.

"Agility!" They shouted in unison, casting a spell that boosted their speed and reflexes.

Strength!" They shouted again, casting another spell that gave them increased strength.

One of them was the first to strike, but I managed to dodge his attack with a quick sidestep. However, two more attackers were coming at me from my right side, and I knew that I had to act quickly if I wanted to survive.

"Luminesce, Dash!" I shouted, using my light sword and to teleport behind them. I emerged from the shimmering portal just out of their reach, my heart racing with adrenaline as I prepared to face off against my enemies.

"Obscura, Multiples Blades!" I shouted as the shadowy entity at my back sprang into action, teleporting and splitting into a multitude of clones that encircled the men.

The men were caught off guard, their eyes widening with shock as they frantically placed their small swords against their backs in a desperate attempt to defend themselves.

It was clear that they were trying to escape, their fear of my sword, Obscura, evident on their faces. The entire village was thrown into chaos as people rushed to get as far away from the confrontation as possible.

"Obscura, Charge!" I commanded, sending the shadowy clones charging towards the men.

But the men were prepared, their hands moving in a blur as they cast a spell that summoned a swirling black shadow beneath them. It seemed to open up and swallow them whole, allowing them to escape through its darkness.

Despite Obscura's best efforts, the men managed to slip away just in time. The shadowy clones struck the ground where the men had been standing, sinking into the earth as the men vanished into the shadows.

I stood for a moment, panting heavily as I tried to catch my breath.

"Get back, Luminesce and Obscura!" I shouted, casting a spell that caused my magical companions to disappear. Oh God, where was Orion?

"Scan!" I cried out, activating my spell that allowed me to locate Orion's aura.

I saw it again, my spell working perfectly, and I could see that they were still fighting. I raced towards the edge of the village, where the battle was taking place.

Two men lay unconscious on the ground, and the three remaining fighters were panting heavily, including Orion. I raised my hand and prepared to cast a spell.

"Shockwave!" I shouted, summoning a huge shockwave that sent the three men flying.

Orion took advantage of the distraction and swiftly stabbed one of them, while the other two fled, jumping onto the roof in an attempt to escape.

We chased after them, but when we reached the roof, they were nowhere to be found. They had vanished into the shadows.

"Damn it!" She yelled, her face contorted with anger and frustration.

I looked around at the roof that surrounded us, trying to understand why these men were attacking us and who they were.

"Maybe these are the men I heard talking," she said, her expression serious. "I think they noticed me and want me out of the way."

"So their master wants you to get killed?" I asked, my mind racing with the implications.

If these were the unknown groups who were after the orb, they were extremely dangerous. We had to find them and stop them, or the world could be doomed.
