Prologue

I'm here now in my room doing my homework. After half an hour, I finally finished! I stood up, turned off the laptop, stretched, and walked closer to my bed. I was about to go to bed when suddenly someone knocked. "Who is that?"

"Ma'am, it's me..." Oh, it's the maid.

"Come in. It's open," I said.

"It's not necessary. You can just come outside." What an attitude.

"Huh? Why?"

"Your dad is calling you downstairs," she said. What does Daddy need?

"What's wrong?"

"Oh, I don't know. Get out of there; it's like we're crazy talking. If possible, just come out." She said that, so I laughed, got up, and walked to the door to go out.

"Here I am," I said, laughing.

"Oh, you little kid," she said, immediately placing both hands on my cheeks.

"Please don't." I pretended I was sad, so she laughed and also lightly hit my arm.

"Okay, that's enough. Hurry up and go downstairs. Your father has been waiting for you for a while." She said, so I nodded to her.

"Quick!" And then walked down the stairs.

"Diana! Come here, baby," Daddy called when I got down the stairs. The maid said he wanted to talk to me. "What is it, Daddy?" I asked as I approached, and that's when I noticed someone was with him, a girl. A woman in her 40s, I think about the same age as Daddy. I looked at Daddy and frowned at him.

"Baby, this is your Aunt Lourdes," Daddy said, but the addition surprised me. "She's my fiancée." He introduced the smiling woman who was almost the same age as Daddy.

"W-what?" I asked in shock.

"Yes, baby. She will be your mom," and put his arm around the woman who smiled at me.

"M-mom?"

"Yes, baby. Sorry if I startled. I introduced her too much suddenly. I also want to ask you if it's okay. If not, then..." Daddy sadly turned to the girl who just smiled at him.

I looked at the woman again. She seems nice. And it's been two years since Mom left, and I want to make Daddy happy. I took a deep breath before turning to her and smiling.

"Hello. I'm Diana Arestelle Beuront." I also smiled at her and held out her hand. She raised both arms as if she wanted to hug me. So, I came to her and hugged her.

"I'm Lourdes Andres. Nice meeting you. There are many stories about your daddy to you. Do you know that I've been wanting to have a daughter for a long time? It's because I already have a son." The joy in her voice surprised me.

"You have a son?" I asked in shock.

"U-uhmmm. Is it okay?" She hesitated, and I immediately smiled.

"Yes, of course. I really want to have an older brother or sister." I said, smiling at her.

"I told you. She'll like you and your son," said Daddy smiling.

"Your daddy is right. Just wait, he's with us here," she said and also looked around to find him.

"Oh, he's there." Aunt Lourdes pointed to the door where her son was. I turned around and was surprised at what I saw.
