There was a new family that moved in next door so the boys decided to lay low. They were not sure how the new neighbors would react to seeing them. They avoided going around the house and spent most of the time in the deeper parts of the forest. Atlas told his brothers to be careful at all times.
"Atlas what makes you think these people would be any different from the girls. They were sweet what makes you think these people are not?" Amos asked quietly.
"The girls had a different vibe about them. Also if they thought about hurting us we could easil stop them. These people are much bigger than us and carry guns with them. They are the type of people Mom warned us about. They're the type of people that took Dad from us."
"Look Atlas I know you were with Dad when he was killed, but that does not mean that all humans are the same. That's like saying all creatures are like the ones that kill. It all depends on how you choose to be," Hedie said pushing his glasses on his face.
"I have to agree with Atlas on this one. Obviously he knows all people are not the same. If he didn't then he would have never talked to Sarah and we would have never met the girls. He is trusting his instincts, which is what we should be doing," Darrius said standing up.
"Don't tell me you feel the same way Atlas does."
"I do and that means we should at least try to lay low."
"Look guys I don't want to argue over this. Just promise me you will trust me on this and stay away from that house. As long as we stay in the deeper parts of the forest we should be safe. So far no hunters have found us and I would like to keep it that way," Atlas said jumping up in a tree. "Now let's have some fun for a while." Atlas smiled and climbed further up the tree. Amos was soon up there with him. "Are you two coming or what?" Atlas asked looking down at Hedie and Darrius who were still on the ground.
"We're not like you two. We can't climb trees that well," Darrius said as he started climbing the tree. When Hedie and Darrius finally made it up the tree Amos and Atlas were laughing at them.
"You two are so slow," Amos said with a smile. Atlas smiled and turned to look at the view. He was horrified at what he saw. In the distance where their house was located was a huge fire. Atlas's eyes got big and without saying anything he rushed down the tree. The rest looked at him confused then notice the fire. They climbed out of the tree as fast as the could. When they got to the bottom Atlas was already gone. They rushed to the fire, but by the time they got there it was to late. Their house was completely burned to the ground. The boys looked around for Atlas and their mother. They had no luck finding neither one.
